Question.. will all the items now rendered ' obsolete' have thier ' this item is used in tradeskills' tag removed anytime soon?. Items such as all 3 types of silkworms, draconic essences, sky vines etc all still bear the ' tradeskills ' tag even though all recipes for thier use are now ' obsolete" Removing these tags may help in some of the confusion over which items are still used in something or can just be wrote off as vendor items now.

I don't have time to look them up, and don't consider it a high enough priority at this time to put this over other fixes and additions.
But if you give me an actuall complete list, I will remove the tag.Ngreth Thergn

Just looking at the forage and possible mob drops for the DON zones themselves i came up with the list below. All the ingrediants below are former Alchemy ingrediants that after checking the recipes are now deemed ' obsolete' and are no longer listed as used in any recipes anymore.
Basilisk saliva
Blue Nightwort
Burnberry
Cryptanthus
Deadly Ivy
Draconic essence
Drake Saliva
Firefly
Luminious ivy
Marsg Algae
Mature Drake Saliva
Mature Silkworm
Nettle Creeper
Pitcher plant
Silkworm
Silkworm Larva
Skyvine
Spiny fruit
Starshine moss
And i appreciate your response and i know its not high priority. I only really gave this some thought after a rather heated conversaiton occured in the bazaar the other day over the Mature silkworms. A person was /ooc Mature silkworms for sale etc. and when it was pointed out that they are no longer used, the arguement then was that they must be as they still had the tradeskill tag and a recipe was listed here for them. When i pointed out the recipe was also Obsolete, i was sent tells by no less then 2 folks asking what that meant. Yes i know.. it made me *sigh* also. Anyways.. that incident is what prompted me to suggest the removal of the tag itself, to alieviate any confusion some may have.
It really looks as if it mainly effected the DON alchemy drops/forages.
Thank you very much

If those items are not longer needed can we get them removed from the drop/forage tables??
Those were added JUST for the alchemy recipes but since they are no longer needed why not just remove them from the game period.
DON forage tables are huge basically because of those alchemy drops.Liwsa 75 Druid Prexus - Retired

Alternately, they could always be reserved for future recipes....
ex:
-extract silk from silkworms (coarse silk, preferably)
-use saliva as a new tanning agent or in a new smithing temper
-firefly...hmmm...new fishing lure?
-other stuff like herbs...possible poison ingredients?

If they are reserved for use in future recipes maybe in a search on the items they could result in the * no known recipes for this item at this time " screen. This would possibly require the removal of the obsolete recipes. Which isnt a hard list to find as if you do a search for the word Obsolete it brings up the list of them all. That way they could retain the tag ingame for future use, but when searched show no known use at this time. Just an idea.

That would work. And I do like the idea of making fishing lure out of the flies.Firefly would offer something nice like +10% to fishing. After all in real life fish tended to get attracted to pretty blinking lights.
When EQTrader is changed to show obsolete ts, it should keep the references to original recipe (via "Find recipies that uses this item") for old time's sake but make a note in red letter that there is no current use for these items. And for all obsolete recipies make big red note that the recipies are no longer in game.
Ngreth- if you choose to change in game or remove the obsolete items, do double-check and make sure it is really obsolete. It would probably be easier to just leave them in for possible future uses.

I like the idea of leaving them in game for future use but maybe remove the "Used in tradeskills" tag for now to ease confusion and maybe ease the forage table, so the things that are forageable and needed (like I don't know Red Cups) would be easier to forage.

While there might be something out there to discover still, all the forages that were used to make the (now removed) calming fluid are still tagged for tradeskills with no other use listed.
