Tradeskill Changes in Today's Patch (6/29/05)

From what I understood at the Fan Faire, from discussions with Tanker and Maddoc, the enhanced chance to skill up only affects pass 2 of the formula, but I'm not 100% sure on this. It was just the way they kept saying that the enhanced chance to skill up was intended to defuse the impact of the Pass 2 changes.

Besides, if you think about it logically, your stat should still apply. If you do a combine with prime stat 70, should you still get the same "enhanced chance to skill up" as someone with prime stat 400? To me, it would make more sense for the enhanced chance to affect pass 2, essentially scaling with your prime stat.

Can we get it confirmed that Palm Leaf and Speckled Pine Fruit can be foraged on Live? Nobody I know of has found it yet.

Right now all I can tell you is that they should be dropping. Remember, that's a PoP era recipe, so you might have to look in PoP zones...

My ranger went on an RZ raid in plane of tactics last night and hit all my usual hotkeys with Forage on them. SOMETHING turned up twice with a name that sounded very familiar. It may have been "Speckled Pine Fruit", but I was in a raid, so I didn't check EQTraders to see what it was for. Don't get too excited. I think it landed in one of my bags somewhere, so I should be able to check my ranger tonight.

OK, I'm in the process of updating the list. Currently, I have 2 open issues (the velium conversion one is removed, and the bag tokens is removed (I personally don't agree with requesting tokens for non-tradeskill items. This was never the intention fo the tokens, and is not a tradeskill issue.))

So, what two items do we want to replace them with?

Vendor sorting?

Tanker has already said he will fix the sorting issue. It's a clear bug, not something that needs review by the tradeskill devs.

I'll ponder some and post some ideas for new items if I have time later on.

Here's my request to add to the list:
Tinkering is the gnomish cultural skill, not tailoring, not smithing. A tinker should be able to make gnomish cultural armor without involving a smith or tailor. More interesting tinkering recipes would also be appreciated.

A couple of ideas off the top of my head.

- Revamp of the GM cultural armors in comparison to Omens Tier 1 and DoN crystal-bought armors.
- Review of Coarse Spider Silk drop rate, especially since you need twice as many silk drops per silk armor item as you would Metallic Drake Scales or Glossy Drake Hides for smithed or leather armors, respectively.
- And, of course, I wouldn't be me if I didn't request reinstatement of the Tradeskill Super-trophy idea. =)

I know, but my point is that Tanker has already said it's scheduled to be fixed. If it's not, then we have valid grounds for complaint. (As you said, if it's not fixed with the next big patch, which should be sometime in July, then we may want to add it to the list.) Until then, I'd rather use our limited space for something else.

Don't bother with putting the merchant sorting on the list. The codes in, and should go up the next time we patch the client (it's already passed QA).

As for when the next update might be, we haven't scheduled one that I know of. Sometime in July is a good guess, sometime in early August is only slightly less likely.
