  • Veteran Reward 2 and tradeskilling

I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this, but I didn't see it posted on the boards anywhere, so I thought I'd bring it up. Apologies if it's already here and my searches just didn't hit it.

The second year veteran reward that maxes stats for 15 minutes can be a big help for tradeskilling, provided, of course, that your skillup run lasts less than 15 minutes.

I suspect this will be more useful to those of us who aren't that high of level or skill, rather than you grandmaster folks who seem to need much longer runs to beat the odds of the RNG. But given my husband's frustration in finding wis gear for a monk and wis buffs that will stick sub 46, this veteran reward was a godsend for his last run and helped him break 200 tailoring finally. We were pretty embarrassed at how long it took us to think of using the reward this way (and annoyed at the amount of tailoring supplies he'd wasted without it on the previous day's tailoring run), so I figured I'd pass on the idea in case it would help anyone else in a simlar position.

I actually thought about this. Then it occured to me, if you use it to do your tradeskilling in the guild hall, does it wear off after the 15 minutes, or is the timer on it suspended like with other buffs? Has someone checked it out yet?

I haven't tried that specific reward in the guildhall, but I do know that the effects of the Bristlebane jester bread continue ticking down in the guildhall, unlike other buffs. So I'd suspect that the veteran rewards can't be extended in the guildhall, unfortunately.
Of course, I haven't tested it specifically, so I'd be happy to have someone prove me wrong on that

I think the reason the bread ticks down is because it is a negative effect. If you are poisoned/diseased/cursed you will notice those tick down in the guild hall. So far I have noticed that the bread is poisoned and the drink heals. I will give the stat aa buff a try tomorrow in the guild hall and see what happens.

Sometimes the bread is poison.. Sometimes its beneficial.. I had some last night that was a 30 min regen.. and since he gives a stack of 10... that's 10, 30 min regens.. YUM

Both the bread and wine seem to have random options to be beneficial or poisoned. But now that you mention it, the bread effect I had wearing off was one of the poisoned ones. I've never ended up poisoned, etc in the guildhall before, so I didn't know about that.
Thanks for the info, and I'll eagerly await hearing how your aa buff test goes.

Bread/Wine can be poisoned/not and the effects are opposite (+10/-10 regen for bread, +3/-3 mana/endurance regen for wine) and there's no way to tell except eating. However your entire stack of 10 is always the same kind of bread/wine. Negative effects countdown as normal in guildhall. It'd be bad if they did not!

If you run the latest version of my inventory tool (see link in my sig), it will tell you if the bread/wine you have is a regen or if it's poison.

Good News. The Infusion of the faithful buff counter DOES NOT go down when you are in the guild hall.

At level 61, it took all of my stats to 260, and all resists to 500

Wow, people with multiple accounts in the same guild can have their other selves get extra vendorables for them should they run out...

those that pay for 2 & 3 accounts Maev. as long as 1 from each account is guilded.. the tradeskiller can sit in guildhall with Vet AA #2 going indefinately while Boxbot #2 & 3 go grab whatever is needed indefinately.

Your "bot" or second account (or your friend for that matter) can run around in the bazaar and the POK merchants buying you additional trade skill items. Then you can deliver it to your main guy in the guild hall who is frozen in time with high stats.

My stats go to 325 for everything, what I have found is if I buff with a wisdom or strength buff, it will not push these stats up past 325. It will basically add the bonuses to your character and then compare it to 325. Then it will show whatever is higher.

Another thing I have done is my quick 30 second buffs. Like Yaulp, I cast that on me in the guild hall, and it stays on me "forever", as long as I dont zone. So those are free bonuses I never really seriously used before. Maybe the uber 300 guys do that for the big money combos. But that was too big of a pain for me.

Needn't be in the same guild or on a different account--just use an alt and the shared bank. Have to do some logging in and out, but not everyone has a 2d account.
