Just thought of something else. I know it's been briefly discussed before, but not sure it has ever been given some serious thought.

When you attempt a combine, you get either a success or fail message (and, potentially, several other messages), but no message to indicate what the attempt was. Your groupmates get a message that indicates whether you succeed or fail AND what you were attempting.

If they implemented the latter for the tradeskiller, then logs would be much easier to parse for success rates/skillup rates and generally more informative. Is this something they are willing to do. I can't imagine it would be particularly difficult, as the code to generate the message already exists...it's just pointing at one's groupmates instead.

      It'll never be dead!

      Never, I say !!!

Allow me to rephrase.... When are they going to get around to doing things that was asked about, and they said, sure, we can do that....from 4 fan faires, or 2 plus years ago.

Of course they're not obligated to do anything we bring up. When they say they can, and will, from that long ago... i'd like to know why they haven't. Questions are great... when they say yeh, we can do that, give us a little time... is 2 plus years (or more in some cases) a reasonable time. If we just get to mention the same exact things we mentioned 2 years ago... that they were going to do then, and still haven't... what's the use?

OK, I just edited the first post with a MONSTER update ... I think the post at least doubled in size, maybe tripled. Let me know if you come up with any further suggestions or ideas.

Sandstorm Pearl can only be crushed in a Mortar and Pestle too. As it is working now, non-elemental tempers (nightmare and storm) use Mortar and Pestle. Elemental tempers (earth, fire, air, water) use a Mixing Bowl. It's inconvenient but it does have a structure behind it.

Excellent list, KyrosKrane. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

I have a radical suggestion. Why not ask SOE to make EVERY item in the game stackable? What's stackable and what's not stackable is so inconsistent right now. They should just make everything stackable to help free up some bank space.

I agree. While it used to make sense, when there were a relatively small number of items in the game to have some be non-stackable for certain reasons, there are now just wayyyy too many items. Concrete items, such as weapon and armor, still should not stack, but there's no reason anymore not to have other things stack, especially tradeskill components and subcombines. Also those bag tokens...it's a sily little token, if we can stack huge bricks of metal you'd thionk we could stack a pile of coins

I'd like to see a new Grandmaster Trophy, however not as a new item but as an augmentation to the existing Grandmaster Trophy's. I believe slot 10 is not yet used as an augment slot, but we'll call it slot "X" for now. The idea is that existing Grandmaster Trophy's be equipped with a slot "X" augment slot in addition to the already existing slot 7.

The augment would have increased stats such as intelligence, strenght, etc that would be added to the original stats, but most importantly it would have another 5% modification skill which will stack with the 5% mod skill already in effect making the total effect of the Trophy 10% modification skill.

One can only make the Grandmaster's Augment if you have a base skill of 300, and once you have made it successfully and mounted it on the Grandmaster Trophy you will be issued the "Grandmaster" title to use.

The augments could have names that are obvious to the skill, such as "A Brilliant Lense" for the Jewelers Eyeglass, a "Ruby Encrusted Handle" for the Brewers Corker, and "A Velium Strenghtened Hammerhead" for the Smiths Hammer, etc etc.

The created augment would of course be NO TRADE and can only be mounted in the correct Grandmaster's Trophy.

I would love to see a new trophy for the tradeskillers already at 300 and looking for a bigger prize then the current trophy. But I think you should not be allowed to skip the current trophy, but it will be an upgrade to the existing one.

Of course stats of the augment are completely open to dicussion. There could be extra stats such as "metabolism +10%" for the bakers spoon, "alcohol tolerance +10%" for the brewers corker, or "preserves mana when casting enchanting metal spells" for enchanter jewelers..... just some ideas to throw in the mix.

OK, I've updated and sent in the list of questions to the developers. The latest list is at the top.

I will still accept questions for consideration if anyone can think of stuff missed so far. The devs may not have a chance to consider them ahead of time, but if they're good, I'll bring them up in Vegas anyway.

How about any chance of doing something to make Spell Research more viable now that it's been 'fixed'? Like introducing more practice recipies that do not require rare drops? Or how about making GoD spells researchable? Or maybe openning up the class restriction on the many recipies for high end spells? Maybe have the needed components drop in zones that people still go to with some regularity so you'll see a few now and then?

                            Poison Specific:

                            1) OoW Poisons were made NO TRADE from 1 dose to 10 dose. The argument given by Absor was to prevent other classes from using them. However, poison will only work for a rogue (someone with apply poison skill). Combined with the rarity of ingredients, to make a 10 dose poison (and thus, recoup your vial investment) you need an exceptional amount of bank space.

                            Summary: Make OoW Poisons tradeable.

                            2) The recipe for Celestial Essences were moved from the Mortar and Pestle to the Mixing Bowl. Given the shear number of combines of this with poison, it would make more sense to add a Poison version of this recipe back in the game (such as alchemy and poison share a lot of recipes). This requires rogues to carry an additional container, which in turn, takes up more space.

Summary: Add Celestial Essence (The Scent of Marr) recipe to Mortar & Pestle.

                            3) Marble Mortar And Pestle. What exactly is this used for? 10 slot mortar, fully functional, with the most complicated poison recipe being 6 slots. This was never explained.

Summary: Does Marble Mortar And Pestle have a specific use?

                            4) The Master Sketch quest has a lot of hints involving something bigger. It is immediately followed by two unknown items in the database. Personally, I have tried every combination I could think of involving the Marble Mortar And Pestle, Grandmaster Assassin's Seal, and the Marble Mortar And Pestle, which are all clues related to this quest. The Dark Assassin (whom I feel the quest points to), does not respond with these items equipped. Is there more?

Summary: Is there more to the Master Sketch quest as implied by the text?

                            5) Why are OoW poison ingredients worth so much to a vender? It is next to impossible to get a group to let you keep all of the drops needed to make poison on the basis it is affecting their split. When a single ingredient sells to a vender for 100pp, which in turn drives up the bazaar price to 1k or more, it is no wonder that poisons are hardly ever used outside of duels. In turn, vender diving is out impossible, unless you want to pay over 1k for each ingredient. This is all to make a single dose.

Summary: Lower OoW Poison ingredient prices for selling to an NPC, and for buying back from NPCs.

Can you add Iridescent Scales to the list of pointless GoD tradeskill items? The supposed headdress is DNC and has no use also to my knowledge for any quest. So unless it's an actual helm made via JC or Smithing, it's probably for something else.

                              Excellent write-up by the way!

                                Just a thought but :

The Torphies make a 'trunk' that would hold bags in your bank. I.E for all those specilized containers. I currently have 3 sewing kits on one toon. Make the ice cream churn token or collaspable ( sorry I made it). The more trophies a toon has the more trunks that WILL hold containers. Would solve alot of the bank crunch for most of us with DoN culture and the plither of required items.
