I was thinking the same. However, the change doesn't seem to make sense for shadowscream. Why up the bracer from 228 to 252? Seems like they are nerfing the paths to 300, so this wouldn't really qualify anyway.

Yes, my characters are very much SHOW ME THE PLATS tradeskillers who sell the fruit of their labor in the Bazaar (and farm raw materials for all those other tradeskillers trying so hard to reach the 1,750/2,100 Club).

It seems to me that the developer's vision of tradeskilling is players making a few items at or slightly above their skill level to use themselves or to sell to some other player. They just don't understand players spending hours and hours and tons of plats to be able to sit down to make hundreds of combinations of fairly worthless items only for the sake of skilling up.

side note on the shadowscream before folks get too outraged on this issue...

On my list, the Shadowscream trivals did NOT change... repeat did NOT change. Gloves are still listed at 262.

Easier to get a VALUABLE item? That's where I totally disagree.

I pay about 500 plat to make an item that won't sell for 50 plat.. I don't want to succeed on the item more, I want to skill up more.

So, what am I supposed to do with the stuff I had just prepped for 300 combines of Solstice Robes? Chains and swatches included. I also bought 800 imbued emeralds last night for the next combine run.

I now have stuff that I spent around 100k for that is worthless.

This stinks to high heaven. I was very proud to become an Expert Artisan about six months ago and really looked forward to becoming a member of the 2100 club and getting the Master Artisan tital. Right now that title should be changed to Sucker Artisan.

Making massive changes to trivials with no warning is simply not right.
I feel bad for those of you with tons of components sitting in the bank that now have become useless for skilling up.

I bet there is a lot of gem-studded chains for sale in bazaar tonight.

Maybe I can find some cheap, imbued emeralds to buy for sickles. . .

It just occurred to me that perhaps the reason the kits aren't fixed yet is because they don't want anyone to have a clear path to 300 fletching, among other things.

My prediction: high-end cultural arrows will be nerfed from 335 to 262 when the kits are fixed. I pray that I'm proven wrong...

Well I'm rather confused by the need for these changes at all. There may well be very sound reasoning behind it but unless someone gets up and tells us WHY then everyone here is going to look at the down side more than the upside, especially if no-one tells us what the upside might be.

                  {nonetheless, despite your later comment, I don't want it here}

It's seems very strange that changes are made with little to no warning especially to such a well known skilling route as Solstice Robes. So come on guys please tell us why before we tie ourselves up in angry knots. If nothing else give some hints to Denmother and The House Ogre so they can give us some hints to simmer down because there is a bright side to the changes.

                  Please.

(Yes, I'm sorry Denmother, I know we're not suppose to troll for direct developer response but I think this is an item that a quick note from them will settle a lot of upset tummies over tonights milk and cookies)

I haven't been able to find any changed trivials in anything but tailoring. But I haven't checked poisonmaking/alchemy/tinkering.

                        what a pain

Wow this really forces people to do cultural tailoring to skill up it seems. What else besides robes and velious stuff was really out there? And with the drop rates being as bad as velious pelts its gonne take forever to farm enough stuff Just hope this is not a kneejerk reaction by sony to slow the rate at which people skill up since many only took 2-3 days to buy there way up

If they were going to do it all along, why not do it when the new items were introduced???? As it is, it's given a few people a HUGE advantage over the rest of us

Moving the trivial of solstice robes is just {bad}, nobody likes to succeed at those, since it "wastes" a gem studded chain. Robes don't give anything like the tribute value that sickles do, and cost more to make.

                          Where is the sense??

When I really really wanted some velious armours to wear, the trivials were so high that I couldn't afford to buy the ingredients to make them for myself. Now I only want to skill up off them, I can no longer do so on the character with the highest level of tailoring. Of course, this is also a character that doesn't have the game levels to get the AA skills to make succeeding easier.

I also had been storing up for a run on Solstice Robes, 400 tunare silk and 100 chains now sitting along with 200 wyvern hides was working on the cod to due a huge run. I am very upset with the lack of warning on this matter. I just can't believe I have wasted so much time and platinum.

I don't quite get this change either, unless they have some DoN recipes they intend the 250+ crowd to use for skilling up their tailoring. DoN seems popular enough already - if their intention is to steer more people there... no, it just doesn't add up.

Tailoring is already a major bear to skill up, especially in comparison with baking, brewing and jewelcraft, and to take awa viable but difficult (read: either expensive or time-consuming or both) paths and leave no real alternative makes little sense. It's not like wyvern hide masks are some quickie routine, in any case. The hides drop infrequently, there aren't that many wyverns in CS to kill, and they're frequently contested, fishing up cod takes time, farming velium takes time... AND, these items have been a viable moneymaker for the level 40s-50s crowd.

I spent several hours last night fishing up cod for oil (75 cod caught with 560 pieces of catch-a-lot bait) - the moment I saw the change, all that cod oil got put on my trader.

Tailoring goes on the same back-burner as fletching now - maybe some new recipes will pop up, or perhaps Sony will reconsider this change.
