I just bought a necromantic device from my local tinker. When I need to loot a corpse that I'm having trouble targeting I clear my target, and click it, that will target the nearest corpse. Then just /loot and you're on your merry way.

Just a bit of devil's advocate...
The general consensus seems to be that no rent bags are eeeevil. I certainly agree they are something to be used with extreme caution, however, no one has mentioned the cases where you actually WANT to trash stuff.
If you're skilling up on something that's only going to sell to a vendor for 1 silver, doesnt stack, and you're making hundreds of them, replacing most of your normal bags with no rents means you can just destroy them when they are full, summon some more, and continue - instead of having to go sell all those things indivdually to a merchant (who may or may not be nearby), for a whopping total of like 2 p...
Also works well for .. well not sure what to call it these days as it's not quite merchant mining anymore, but - there are certain merchants I try to keep somewhat cleared out by buying up stuff on them and moving it to my designated dumping ground merchant... Of course, you don't want to destroy stuff from the Tranquility merchants, for example, as most you can sell back for very close to what it cost, and sometimes that's a couple hundred plat per item. You're mainly just wanting them moved elsewhere... But if you want to clear a newbie merchant or even a higher zone merchant who happens to have alot of junk on him at the time, you can just position your bags so that stuff goes into a nice freebie no rent bag and trash it. You may lose like 5 plat in stuff *gasp*, but if you do this sort of thing extensively, its usually worth it. I often make 4 or 5 trips back and forth to my dumping merchant in Neriak when I'm cleaning up PoT merchants. Needless to say, if you can't port that's alot of running around, so being able to destory the basically worthless bits in one swell foop is kinda handy.
And, nawh, I'm not generally someone who goes around trashing stuff all the time. Heck, I don't think I even started getting rid of silver and copper until level 35 or something, even when I could hardly move! I'll never trash something worth more than say... 3 plat just to get it out of the way. (Thus for me, the lower level words and runes are fair game, but not the higher level ones, for example). Just decide what limit works for you.
Anyway, just my random thoughts on no rent bags from the other perspective.

When farming and killing large numbers of mobs use /hidecorpses looted. This will hide a corpse once you loot it even if you leave stuff on the corpse. Usefull for those AE kills where you have a stack of 10 mobs and really dont want to loot the rubbish on them. If you accidently come out of a corpse and it is hidden then you can show all corpses again with /hidecorpses none.

Always buy some non water things to drink (such as milk). That way, you avoid charging out to fight after a pleasant session smithing or making clay idols, and arriving on your raid/group with nothing to drink! It is easy to end up using up all my water in a tradeskilling session.Obina Redemptus

Doh
Way back when Used a whole cake in my first four MTPB attempts.
I have used the social
/Doability2 (forage)
/pause 20 (i think its 20)
/autoinventory
Since it came out And I do alot of moving around. I have never had a problem. The socail is tied into my D key wich is my right turn key. Thinking I may have a problem whith it i made a second social that was just autoinventory just incase. Never used it so deleted it.
Before farming hundreds of snake eggs. Take a look at yer level and ponder how hard the baskilisks in Lavastorm are. at 30 I was tosting them. ( I was 30 for a LOOONNNGGG time) Before that I went and killed snakes. Drop rate on Basks are much nicer as are the 15 dough per egg return.
It's been said but don't forget to reequip battle gear. THat includes weapons and your loot bags, Your J/T Boots, your drum (bard only), bridal,
Double check yer collap[sible containers before destroying.
Make sure you actually have bait and yer fishingpole before heading to an outa the way place (pre PoP)
I can't even rember all the really stupid tradeskill related stuff i have done.
If you shop in the bazaar over a weeks time you can usually pick up a solstice earing kit for around 3k Buy 5 sell 4 keep one. Thats when you have the plat. You don't nesicarily have to buy all 5 kits at once. leave the spendy items for each time you sell. Started with 5k sold 4 kits over a weeks time Still have 5k My solstice earing and a troubadore mace.
Walk away from the Jerks in game. Be nice to everyone. It has a tendancy to Increase your injoyment of the game (may depend on server)
Bards have a few nice songs. Str, Wis/int. They usually stack with other spells. Alot of bards will AFK train there bards instrument skills.
Tufts of dire wolf fur are a pain to forage.
RaoRao's gear
Retired from EQ on or around Septemeber 06.
Harp's gear
PS. Molto Has retired. EQ2 has lured core group away.
I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.
Still Some of my favorite times spent online happened in Norath. The friends and mobs I remember fondly.

I have to agree, never use summoned bags.... unless your desperate, very very desperate. (If you have 6 permanent containers, one from Collapsed and a GM Trophy perma bag, Why use summoned bags?).

Extending upon what what Mileron said, when I'm not near a bank, I typically 'launder' my copper and silver with stacks of water. If your charisma is fine, you can buy and sell water at exactly the same price, thereby converting your small change to gold. I usually do this before splitting when I'm the main looter for a LDoN group.

- Worked mainly at Thurgadim on brewing (Mino brew) until I discovered that Halas was the best place for it (one house with 3 vendors and barrel, less lag)
- Take care of the 200 cap level on tradeskill if you dont have Tanaan aa's yet and want to specialise on a specific tradeskill.
- Always buy more components than the expected number of combine because you will always fail at last once (Grrr Halas meat pie).
- Free the maximum room in your inventory before making lots of combine (Halas meat pie strike again) or going on component farmage.

High-end tradeskill combines that sell very cheaply to vendors/Bazaar can often be donated to your tribute master for a sizable tribute reward.
Creating a tradeskill mule who holds all of your supplies, except for the ones you're currently using for skill-ups, makes life much easier.
When farming massive numbers of green/light-blue mobs at level 65, invite a level 46+ person along to sponge experience. They can ding in an hour this way. Just make it very clear that you will do horrible things to them if they loot any of the items you're looking for.Last edited by Zolina; 05-25-2004, 10:22 AM.

More Fishing
If you're going fishing in an out of the way place (with no fishing vendors nearby), in addition to making sure you have your pole and bait:
Buy an extra pole or two to take along in case your pole breaks.Normbow Artifex

If you are having a hard time looting mobs like in LDON you can create a hotkey like this:
/target a
/pause 5
/loot
Since the vast majority of mobs names start with a or an it will most likely target their corpses everytime provided you are in looting range. I have had a really hard time targeting corpses in guk ldons so this is just about the only effective way to do it and still keep up with the pace.
It also works on player corpses that fall thru a wall or the floor to where you cannot see it.
/target playername
/pause 2
/corpse
