Can always smith sickles to 250 so there is a way other than shadowscream(which trivs at 248 anyway).

Shadowscream cloak, gauntlets, leggings, and shoulders triv >250.

And there's Acrylia plate too, that can take any race to 250. The enchanted velium bits only take you to 222 anyhow, not 250

Glow Lichen's forage rate doesn't really affect the making of LoY robes all that much. The only thing you need it for is to make a single Teir'Dal needle. Once you have that you just need to forage Ashweed in Lavastorm and Cursed Clovers of Viesar in the Overthere. Since Ashweed is the only rare forage in Lavastorm, the forage rate on it isn't too bad. Clovers, on the other hand...

they re vamped crystal caverns a few months back too the velium drop was significantly reduced. So there is much less farming of it now. This is also a good reason why the velium prices have sky rocketed.

Ya know, I said FEASIBLE route. No, sickles are not a feasible route. I'll be ****ed if I'm gonna spend over 400 plat per combine on sickles. So that leaves Acrylia and Shadowscream. Hmm.

Lemme see, acrylia. Multiple windstones and Essence of Wind to make the tempers. Well, to buy windstones is 100-200 plat *each* and I've never seen Essence of Wind for sale. I can farm those though. In the prolly 60-80 hrs I've been in Tenebrous Mnts I've seen less than a stack of Windstone and never seen an Essence. Yep - acrylia sure is feasible.

feasible is different for each person, slippy.

I knew i was going to need ingredients for a number of smithing paths, so i started buying windstones on my server, whenever they were 150p or less. I put a limit of 50p on essence of wind, and found enough of them for the windstones, along with my own farming. I also bought folded sheets and/or blocks when they were the right price.

Also watched for blessed dust of tunare at 40p or less each (800p or less per stack) and mistletoe temper for 10p or less each (200p or less per stack). Those were my price limits. When I had enough of whatever I was collecting for a "run" of combines (whatever a "run" was for each thing) I did em.

Eventually I had enough plat to add stacks of blue diamonds to my shopping list, and back when POP opened i pulled TONS of them off vendors. Within a few months there were enough BD that I stopped buying them unless i found em in Bazaar for 150p or less each.

I also did a bit of shadow scream farming, but i was trying to do it back when the hollowshade war kept breaking. It was terribly frustrating for me so, even though i'm a mage and could easily farm it, I gave up early.

Also I tend to work on multiple skills/multiple paths for each skill at a time. Keeps me from getting bored And with so many things to work on, there's always a full stack of SOMETHING to work on when i'm ready.

So I do consider mistletoe sickles, blue diamond cultural, acrylia, and shadow scream to all be viable skill paths for 200+ smithing. I used em all, to varying degrees of success depending on my skill level at the time.

Just depends on your purse, i would think. When mine was empty i stopped shopping and started clicking

Think he is only vendor that sells enchant velium. However, you can go to EC and buy MASS enchant velium for 83pp. Just would be stuck enchanting velium bars in multiples of 5 til they fix the vendor somehow.

Edit: Er, read later posts, didn't realize THAT's what you wanted enchant velium for, hehe. Mass enchant a way to work around getting the spell to enchant bars for jewelery, but guess you're stuck for enchanted velium bits until the vendor's fixed.

Sickle are a feasible way to skill up since you can sell successes for 3x component costs. To break even you need to make one out of every 3 attempts.

                    ...

Personally, I'd be thrilled silly if they nerfed the **** out of the new recipe and just added CVT's as a vendor item instead of having to make these (oh, my aching wrists) or buying from the exploiters.

I just want to make sure.

Now that the vendor does not sell cvt anymore... does that mean the only way I can get them is to make them myself (or bazaar)?

Ugggg!!! No other vendor sells them?

/sigh... And to think... I thought the tradeskill clicky pain would be over after maxing out skills. Need to make some items for people, and didn't think of banking them beforehand.

It seems that CVT's may be coming back to Vendors - Lucy is reporting that their resale price was changed from 1cp to 5pp (EDIT: ON TEST SERVER), which is IMO a bad move - it will let those that still have huge stockpiles of CVTs to make an instant profit.

5pp is cheaper than cost. wouldn't mind but then absolutely no reason to brew your own.

edit oops. you have gotten better at reading (2). 5pp is cheaper than you can brew it yourself. as it should be.

I thought that 5PP would be the price the vendor bought it from you, not how much they charged you. If that's how much they are selling them for, then that would really suck, since I just bought 800 of them for 10pp each.

that would be from someone who exploited. they cost a bit over 10pp to make each and dont get made for fun. 5pp would be more than they used to sell back for i think. what did they used to be. i thought it was 4 and change or less.
