Brodder doesn't work for SOE. What he DID do, however, after being known for his excellent roleplaying of a drunken dwarven cleric, is put together a bunch of brewing recipes (for alcoholic drinks) and write Brodder's Diarys, for Yak and the dev team. They entered EQ in various altered forms, not everything he developed showed up, or showed up in the form he had originally envisioned. I would agree however that his post above is a strong hint that there's an undiscovered recipe or two out there.....

Nope, if it was new I'd have tried it yep yep...

Dem tinkers sure make good ale carriers dey doo...
As for the last comment... a Tinker's Bag is a 10 slot 100% weight reducing bag, the perfect thing to carry brew in.
Also, it might be a hint that since it is not something new, it is something old... perhaps. I see heady kiola has already been tried, perhaps something else to do with tailoring?

Scissors and a knitting needle.....
Another grasping at straws idea but from a smithing standpoint shears are the closest thing to scissors and I've never heard of a knitting needle...there are the loy dyes though.
And my other other idea out of the blue picking apart seperate parts of the post is pointing to a shelf high up..a shelf where a spawned drink appears like the books in the POK library? Maybe all those drinks up there aren't just for show  and it looks just like them.
Now if gnomes dropped skulls, then you could make a gnome skull drink  .Mayyne Battlesmith Lvl 55 Smithing Enchanter Drinal

Oh Look Sticky Rolls !!

Cinnamon Rolls are sticky. There are cinnamon flavored alcholic drinks in RL. Maybe soak some cinnamon sticks in brandy or something. Or try combining frosting and cinnamon sticks with some other drinks.
I would try this myself but just can't find the time in game so I thought I would throw the idea out there.

Yes, the high elf "Faydark Essence" is made by cinnamon stick + water flask in a brew barrel..... maybe mixing some faydark essence with some jum jum spiced beer.. hmm.. sounds like it would result in a hint in the solstice potc quest.........

would the "Gnomish Knitting Kneedle" that has no known use to date have any relevance here I wonder?
And what of the "Gnomish Cooking Pot"?

Speaking as a person whom only blindly follows the paths layed out before me...
"*looks about the room and whistles innocently, as he moves towards an exit and is stopped by a Halfling wielding scissors and a knitting needle*
Ohh hey! Watch the beard by Brell!! "
I would guess a tailor has to make something with beards (woven beards?)
"Now I wouldn't know anything about new ales would I?
Nope, if it was new I'd have tried it yep yep... "
I would guess this is definately a new recipe.
"Oh Look Sticky Rolls !! "
Someone mentioned cinamin rolls (hate spelling), GREAT thought!
"*points at a high shelf near the bar, and as the halfling races to climb up and check the shelf just to be sure, the dwarf sneaks out whistling and patting his supply bag* "
I cant help but think there is a ground spawn on a shelf somewhere... in rivervale?
"Dem tinkers sure make good ale carriers dey doo... "
Final combine in a tinkered brew-barrel?
Again, my views are pretty much worthless as I am only guessing (trynig to help give a fresh perspective).

Re: Brodder
My guess, good as any other:
Flavour text. The Halfling with the tailoring supplies represents the Denmom, and she's accosting Brodder seeking the answer to this problem.
This Is A Hint. The item we're looking for is an ale, and Brodder knows the recipe. (Dwarves are bad liars.)
More flavour text. Brodder distracts the Denmom with imaginary sticky rolls, and makes a run for it. Patting his supply bag confirms that Brodder does have the ale as per the previous piece.
Possible hint. Could just be flavour text about all the ales he must have stashed in his Tinker's Bag, or could be a pointer towards a gnomish connection. Note that he repeats the word ale, which really leads one to believe the target drink is an ale and not some other beverage.
Were I a betting dwarf, I'd look into brewed ales, and in particular search out any possible gnomish ales.

Um, Just a shot in the dark here, perhaps transform an old ale by combining it with the corker? Or combine several ales together with a cask or bottle to make a new one?

Here's another thought, anyone tried the ale summoned by the fisherman's companion fishing pole?

Asking around the short-people area...
Are we sure that all the NPC's in the small-people's part of town, particularly the gnomes given the tinkered ale carrier reference, have been asked about "new ale"? I would try this myself, if I could keep EQ running for any length of time....

3 things from Broddors supposed clues caught my attention.
Ale, a Halfing, and sticky buns.
The Marshel in Rivervale gives out rewards for turning in Runnyeye Warbeads.
Tagglefoot Tingle Drink and Bixie Berry Buns
I didn't see these on the attempted list and they seem to fit pretty well.
Twice in his post he is whistling - whistle-wetter included perhaps?
