I appreciate the offer, unfortunately I'm on Bertox. I figure I'll just start auctioning higher prices until someone decides its worth porting up . We have 4 foragers in our guild, unfortunately none has access, heh.

Pod of Blood is foraged or dropped in ToB? Been there the last 3 Fridays and have yet to see one. Guessing foraged?

Maybe they need to be boiled up first? Beans + pot + water flask, or something like that. I wish I could help try some combines but I'm having no luck finding a Pod of Blood yet

Good luck, and nice job getting the Sausage done btw.
Yeah, for the combines I tried, instead of using the raw 'cup of black beans' which is sold on the vendor, I used this combine instead to make spiced black beans:
Baking Components: Cup of Black Beans(2), Pot, Spices, Water Flask
In: Spit, Oven, Tanaan Oven, Collapsible Spit
          Yield: 1
          Also Returns: Pot
          On Failure Returns: Pot
          Trivial at: 60
This recipe works substituting red beans or painted beans instead as well.

The only thing I've thought of is that maybe the beans need to be brewed with the alcohols (Minotaur Hero Brew or DSDBDA) instead of water. I have been just *swamped* with real life though, so I haven't made any progress at all on this quest. With luck, I will get back to it later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Also, thanks for the congrats, but I certainly didnt find the sausage alone! *grins* I just love that the trade community here is so great at working together on these things. To that end, good luck getting the blood. I just wish I had a character on Bertoxx to help you! Hopefully someone will jump in and throw a few blobs your way! I'm still trying to convince my ranger friend that going up there *again* is a good idea.

Working on these now. A few discoveries:

The recipes for chopped blood sausages are in the database now, as well as posted to this thread, and this forum. However...
            • Chopped spiced blood sausage is marked as being used in tradeskills.
            • Chopped blood sausage is not marked as being used in tradeskills.

I plan to limit my experiments to the spiced version of blood sausage for the moment. The recipe listed in the Diaries seems pretty clear on this point too -- so I have no cause to think that this is a bug.

I've just picked up some spare ales and tried these combines to see if I could get an ale soaked bean product, with all 3 raw bean types (black, painted, red):
            Cup of ___ Beans (2) + Pot + Spices + Minotaur Hero's Brew in Oven = DNC
Cup of ___ Beans (2) + Pot + Spices + DSDBDA in Oven = DNC

I've re-read and re-re-read Brodder's Diaries 2 and while the text hints that Catbik makes beans with different brews, there is nothing really specific that would make me convinced this was the right route -- so I think I'm done trying to brew different versions of pots of beans.

So, even though I was pretty sure that Lilsatrn had done these combinations, I decided to re-try the obvious just in case:
Spiced __ Beans + Yeast (2) + Sugar Syrup + Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage (2) + DBDSDA (2) in Brewing Barrel = DNC
Spiced __ Beans + Yeast (2) + Sugar Syrup + Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage (2) + Minotaur Hero's Brew (2) in Brewing Barrel = DNC
Spiced __ Beans + Yeast (2) + Sugar Syrup + Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage (2) + DBDSDA (2) in Brewing Barrel = DNC
            Spiced __ Beans + Yeast (2) + Sugar Syrup + Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage (2) + Cask + Minotaur Hero's Brew (2) in Brewing Barrel = DNC
            Spiced __ Beans + Yeast (2) + Sugar Syrup + Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage (2) + Bottle + Minotaur Hero's Brew (2) in Brewing Barrel = DNC
            Spiced __ Beans + Yeast (2) + Sugar Syrup + Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage (2) + Bottle (2) + Minotaur Hero's Brew (2) in Brewing Barrel = DNC

Ok, well, at least 2 of us have proved that didn't work now.

I started wondering about the double portion of yeast and tried a few combines where I'd leave out one yeast and/or the chopped blood sausage at first -- to come up with a bean mash, and then a 2nd fermented bean mash but as you might imagine, this was a long shot and went nowhere.

Then I started wondering about the term 'flask of sugar syrup' -- maybe there is a way to combine multiple sugar syrups into a flask of them? Or maybe one of the brews from Brodder's Diaries 1 should be used in place of the sugar syrup. Again, these seem like incredible long shots. Nevertheless, for now, I'm going to put aside Brodder's Diaries 2 and see if I can finish up the recipes in Brodder's Diaries 1.

Either that, or perhaps I will have some divine revelation in my sleep that suddenly gives me an idea that doesn't seem like such a longshot.

            Until tomorrow,

any hope for a hint, I believe I have done and redone all that Ashwith has with bottles, casks, corks, with and without the tool with no success, going from the texts, we should have hit on it, what is it perhaps that we are missing any clues?

I haven't been given permission to start my poems and hints yet. To close to release I guess. I do have the working recipes and steps required. Just need Ngreth to verify that the recipe works in game and that I can start hinting.

I have been reading this thread with curiosity. Has it ended in frustration?

Mostly, I think... the holidays got me more than frustration!!

I don't have any really good leads or ideas to try next on the brew that involves blood sausage. I keep meaning to go back to the first diary and try that recipe instead. Now that the New Year is in swing, perhaps I'll get around to that soon!

                      Cheers,

Well branching off from what was posted above I found that:
                                2 Minotaur Hero Brew
                                1 Cask
                                2 Yeast
                                1 Sugar Syrup
                                2 Chopped Spiced Blood Sausage
                                2 Spiced Painted Beans

Combines into Minotaur Heavy Painted Bean Ale, Yield 1, Trivial 258. With stats STR +2, STA +2, CHA -2, HP +5, SVM +2.

Haven't found an ale to use with the black beans. I was using them with the DBDSDA and MHB, no wonder it didn't work.

Now off to make some Othmir Algae Ale and see if I can get the Chewie Chewies and Light Bean Ale. And maybe find out what works with those evil Spiced Black Beans.
