Looking back through the old posts for insight, I got kinda fixated on "none of the meats are 'raw'". While the treant heart (definately not a meat) is part of the recipie, the rest of the ingredients aside from the apothecary are all derived from meats (hynid, cragbeast, horse, horse, sea/water dragon, nest drake, darkhollow basilisk). Maybe the liver is correct in its natural state.. we just haven't found the right horse/crag/hynid recipie to combine it with.

I guess I'm back off to farm horses... only need another 50 meat or so to try the different results with that....

    • To get to the meat of the matter
Include the apothecary of one with a shell
Has anyone considered that this could be meant as "combine a liver with a shell" rather than the shell describing the liver donor?

I can't try it, as I'm at work, but how about:

      Turepta Liver + Turepta Shell?

I see no where that is says Garlic Buttered Horse is correct. Just what everyone assumes. Thought i would throw out another option.

        • Make the ones you ride slippery and stinky
It's highly unlikely that it's anything but garlic-buttered horse meat. There are some pretty smart and resilient tradeskillers on the boards who have solved more obscure references in a matter of hours. I don't think there would be such an overwhelming agreement on this particular aspect if there was even an inkling of doubt. Ngreth really can't get much more straight forward than this without saying exactly what we need to use.

But, yes, to your point...it is an assumption.

          • It's been a long time since I did any hunting in Nedaria's Landing, but has anyone done a harvest of the sea turtles there? They may be the "one with a shell" if, perhaps, a liver has been added to their drop tables. At work now, will check into this more once I get home and get some time to myself.

They do drop a Liver, and it is tradeskill flaged. The problem we're having is what to do with it.. I've tried at least a hundered different combines with it, some sensible some not so much, and still no luck. At this point unless I get an itch to go clicking again, or someone hits on an idea that we haven't tried yet, I'm mostly waiting for another hint

*edit: Oops... I always get Nedaria and Natimbi mixed up... never mind that stuff up there... On a side note there are the turtles in Twilight too, which I haven't gone killing since the POR expansion came out, has anyone been there to see if something new might drop?

                • Not really sure how that (Chunk of Turtle Shell) is going to fit into something whose Lore is 'A large stack of meat products', unless it's used as a utensil or somesuch... it's also been around since January 2004.

                  • well it was updated 3-3-06 and is a combinable so figured it might be something the meat is put in.

                    • How is a chunk of a shell "include the apothecary of one with a shell"??

                      Where is the apothecary?

                      • chunk of a "shell" one with a "shell"

                        • The only way I could see that chunk of a shell being used was if there was a subcombine (perhaps with a skinning or filleting knife) that separates some meat from the shell.

However, keep in mind that the "combinable" flag on Lucy != tradeskill flag. In Lucy, the "combinable" flag is used on quest items that are combined, and also stackable items.

...and yes, I think a hint may be necessary...is Turepta liver correct? If not used in "raw" form....maybe the recipe could show up on a scrap of paper somewhere....or be given to us through a small subquest?

                            • well at first hearing the apothecary part of it i pictured smoking...and so thought something in a shell smoked and tried the old school smoked wood elf recipe of smoked turepta liver to no avail....but that is something to think about

                              • Hrm. Ok maybe I was wrong about raw... will teach me to say something when I do not have the recipe in front of me. At least not with my memory.

Anyway. Here are some more direct hints.

there are 9 items in the combine.
                                4 items are sausage.
                                2 items are grilled.
                                1 is raw.

This time I am looking at the recipe... so there are no mistakes in that statement. Sorry for the previous mistaken hint

I will give more hints on the meat as I feel warranted. I will be quite for a bit again on the final item once the meat is solved.
