Hidden Baking Recipie in PoR

just a question here for my understanding: In the Dryad Pate, what brought poeple to find that apothecary of dryad was a pate? i dont see any relation between apothecary and pate.
Im french Canadian (no one is perfect), maybe there is something i am missing due to my lack of knowledge in english.

Tried the pate recipe w/ Turepta Meat (not flagged for ts), but was DNC. Tried a spit and a mixing bowl (I know the other pates are oven/spit but I thought I'd try both anyway).

In Olde English, an Apothecary is a Medicine or Treatment.

Not that I'm personally going anywhere with this... I don't know what it is or would be. But it might be the kind of clue someone needs.

One that prepares and sells drugs and other medicines; a pharmacist.

So we might be looking for a "healer", "priest", "Shaman" (mixing relates to Alchemy) or even "candy" version here.

The actual line is: Include the apothecary of one with a shell
So, given that and the definitions above...
"Include the (pharmacist) of one with a shell"
"Include the (recepticle) of one with a shell"
"Include the (storehouse) of one with a shell"
"Include the (medicine) of one with a shell"

Jeeze, if I didn't know any better, I'd think we were looking for some sort of shellfish-haggis recipie!

ehh it may be over simplfying it a bit. But if we are talking about the apothecary as the acual meat of the mob. And the recipie calls for "the apothecary of one with a shell". so umm if we are taking the Bristebane's Challenge Cheese's text meening of apothecary then wouldnt somthing like dryied crab meat fit better? it works with what nergth called for with everything being "cooked" since drying is a type of cooking

we belive that the pate is made with the "TL" as Q said because of the lines on the Bristebane's Challenge Cheeses "and simply add the apothecary mixed of dryad that we missed" is the dryad pate part.

(of course now adays the liver absorbs all the toxins in the environment too. The liver is kinda a spongy filter. Toxins enter but they never leave.)

So people craved them (livers) and they seamed to feel better after eating a few portions of liver. (and this is because the liver did hold on to certain minerals and was a source of vitamins. Some diaticians still tell people to take cod liver oil. ITS high in Vitamin E I believe.)

Now have you ever had liver? Im not that fond of it. Someone else obviously wasnt either so they made a pate out of it.

Now eating liver because of its medicinal value is a bit of a jump in logic but there is a logic too it. Thus it could be sold in an apothacarys shop.

Some say that the liver is the "Apothecary" of the body. It produces many of the different chemicals and hormones that a body needs to keep working.

I come from a family that (shudder) does prepare liver for dinner on occasion. I looked through the DNC lists, and I haven't seen Turepta liver cooked in either butter or vegetable oil.

Usually its prepared in a pan and fried lightly in the oil or butter, and the onions are added later. But the recipe doesn't call for liver and onions, so perhaps just cooking the liver in a Non-stick Frying Pan with butter or vegetable oil?

Just a thought.

Oh, and FYI most of the definitions you found for apothecary apply to liver. It was used for pharmaceutical purposes, and it also is a 'sweetmeat' as it does filter and retain a lot of the sugar your body ingests.

Well, I think that hint eliminates all the crab meat stuff, and brings us back to the Turepta Liver, and read with the above, not raw liver either.

While Pate is the only method of preparing Liver that we've seen in EQ, there's several other real-world prep methods that might yield us what we need - so beer-braised and grilled are also possibilities. (My personal favourite for lamb/beef/pork liver is with onions... basically coated in flour, then lightly fried with onions... the method is rather similar to the description for deep-fried treant heart, as a matter of fact).

Don't have time to scroll back through recipes...but has anyone tried the Deep Fried Treant Heart with a Turepta Liver instead? Or maybe add some onions and/or butter? I have a couple livers...if I have time tonight, I'll try out some stuff.

EDIT: As an aside, I was probably one of the few kids that would eat liver and actually liked it! As well as gizzards, turkey necks and whatever else is found inside those turkeys at Thanksgiving time!
