Oh dear lord yes…there is a dead Ogre stinking up the entrance to the corridor that leads from the bazaar to the Nexus…

/hidecorpse allbutgroup is a godsend and I ALWAYS hit it as well as resetting my clip plane to 0 when entering the bazaar.

Now if only there was a /hidefatties command that took care of the LIVE ones too!

My immediate thought was the NPC guards should get a new duty... After a corpse has spent 5 minutes where the unfortunate sole breathed last... the NPC guard should drag the corpse back to the arena and dump it there. As long as the player is not in the zone.

Kinda like a "poor man's graveyard".

And toss into that, any Large Race who is in Trader Mode, AFK for more than 10 minutes, a wandering NPC Shaman will walk up and cast "Shrink" a couple of times. Can also be done to Medium Size Races and shrunk once.

Nah... that would require Verant/Sony to write up code to have a wandering NPC do something to players...

Not all of us have alts that serve as our Trader. I only have one account and one computer and don't like making friends mule for me any more than necessary, so my main character is my Trader. She happens to be a barbarian, so I don't have problems with people blocking me. But not everyone is as fortunate. Creating an alt to serve as Trader would be a major hassle both to myself and to my friends, and is not something anyone should be forced to do just because other people are selfish.
I agree. It's sad when people who have the basic 1 Computer/1 Account setup are in the minority.

If I had 2 accounts and/or 2 computers, this game would be so much easier. But we make do, even us hobbits...

Heh, ya, they do get annoying My trader's haunt is on a horizontal barrel to the west of the center building. A non-crowded area, but still not in the two back alleys that constitute the low-lag district. I'm not at the front end of the stall, but I try to be as far forward on the barrel as I can (I'm on the barrel for height (my trader, like my main, is a dwarf. Similarly named, too ) for more visibility. Still, even in the uncrowded area, I come back to my comp the next morning and find someone infront of me about half the time. Its not like there's any lack of room for them a little to the left or right ... they decide to set up shop RIGHT in front of me. Its rarely the same person for more than a handful of nights at least, but it gets annoying.

Occasionally there's someone at the front end of my double barrel set. When that happens, I just move off the front barrel on to the back one. Still largely visible, and gives plenty of room between me and the person in front of me for manuvering and clicking.

heh, I only have 1 account as well. At first I was afraid of using my main for trader, fearing bugs (*points at the Pickpocket/beg bug* see? I was right). After having done it a while, I realized how much it was driving up my /played. I like having that as a (relatively) accurate assesment of my time on Dunthor ... that more than anything else drove me to create Dunsarms, my bazaar mule. Its a royal pain getting friends to transfer goods to my mule, and plat off it, but its still handy. But it is REALLY annoying, and for most people with 1 account I can see they would often use their main. And, judging by the gear and last names I often see in the bazaar, I think many do (yes, I know people outfit their traders. I have a visible suit of dyed FP, made to try and match Dunthor's dress armor. But it doesn't quite match, hehe. But still, typical mule dress up looks rather different from the mismash that is xp armor, imo)

The bazaar, while useful functionality, seems to be the annoying EQers favorite gathering place, because they can cause so much annoyance and havoc so easily and with so few consequences.

/me closes the blinds and locks the door.

The new druid spell, Share form of the Greater Wolf, can be /tgb'ed.

/me steps in the shadows and disappears.

I'm a human bazaar mule/monkey and I just sit on barrels. It seems to help with the arses who like to block people in.

Fortunately, I've only had my trader obstructed twice, but I'm sure it helps that I'm
1.) A medium sized race (can't sit on me), and
2.) usually toward the front of the platform.
                  Still...
The second time was fairly easy to deal with, and appears to have been unintentional. I was actually still at my computer at the time, and saw when someone stepped in front of me. I made a comment or two mentioning that he was blocking me, and he immediately moved to one side.
The first time was definitely the stranger one. I left my male Erudite on overnight, as I typically do, and when I turned the monitor on the next morning, well...
There was a female high elf lined up SO perfectly, and standing so close to my character, that it looked like we were engaged in some extremely intimate act (albeit with her back to me).
That was odd, to say the least...

Was it so intimate you could see her teeth and eyeballs?

                    That is... disturbing somtimes.

"It always seems that there are one or two clusters of people parked right where the entry corridor opens out into the bazaar proper, and you generally have to make a few attempts to get past them before you can actually enter the bazaar. These people, of course, are never hugging the wall..."

Sorry. My little dark elf is usually parked there in the hallway to the Nexus zone because she's too lagged to even GET to the wall, out of the way.

Now that I realize what a pain in the butt that is, I'll be sure to take 5 minutes and get to the wall, out of the way...

                        bazaar rudeness!

I saw someone deliberately spend 5 minutes the other day positioning himself right in front of my hlf druid trader. I was enraged, told him to knock off, no response. Most of the time if you catch them and say something they'll stop but not this guy. Man, I wanted to find his main...
I have to admit for fun once or twice tho Ive had my gnome enchanter cast illusion ogre then fill a whole stall all for myself . Lol.
My best solution is to get to the very edge in front of a barrel, so no one can set up in front of me.

Problem with that is anyone that zones in after you gets a gnome sized ogre.

                          >>Not sure why people insist on vertically challenged races, and complain they cant be seen or that people are in their way.

I sell tinkered goods. Tinkered goods belong on a gnome. Of course, I don't go sit by the bank. That's just stupid. Painful to target, so not like you'll get people checking all the traders. And since most of my business comes from people using /bazaar to locate me, a lesser populated area works well.

                            Zoning in...

Part of the problem I've noted, is that when you're zoning in, you'll get stuck on people. Usually people get out of the way as quick as they can, there's just one simple problem that often impaitent people forget.

When you're zoning into somewhere or logging in, your character appears several seconds before you yourself are all the way logged/zoned in and can actually control the character in order to move it out of the way! =p

Sure it sucks when there's an ogre standing at the zone line, but they usually move quick enough. If you're a medium or large race, jumping tends to work quite well for getting unstuck. Can't give any advice to you little 'uns out there though.

                              Bazaar Zoneline

When you cross just about any non-Luclin zoneline in the game, you zone in at a similar point on the other side.

For instance. If you zone from EC to WC on the sand, you'll enter WC on the sand. If you stay to the left of the bridge between SK and NK, you'll end up on the left side when you 'land'.

However, every zone in Luclin seems to have this strange property of putting you exactly in the center of the exiting zoneline.

Like going from Nexus to Bazaar. I stay along the wall, but no matter what, I get dumped into the pile of people in the center of the hall on the other side.

Same problem going from Shadowhaven to Paludal, Nexus to Netherbian...

I found another issue tonight. FD Monks. They take up a LOT more room than a large race. Almost a full stall. And sometimes they lie out in the path, making it 'easier' to get to them, but it also makes it hard to walk around them. Let alone see them when you F9 out to see if you're standing in/on anyone.

I sympathize with all the sad stories of squished traders... My wood elf, while not tiny, does get squished on occassion. Just the other day I was surrounded by an ogre and two barbarians. And they were there all day. It's my normal spot, and there are only two traders that are in that spot every day - the rest come and go.

The most annoying thing now, are the casinos. I guess it's my fault for setting up shop near the stables... It doesn't matter where a casino opens, everyone yells at them to take it to the stables... personally I wish they would take it to another zone...

Anyway to filter out magic die rolls?
