bind the autoattack to a hotbutton then put that macro on that hotbutton. tehn when ever u hit auto attack it will click hotbutton

Note** What ur doing is making it so your autto attack button ( say ~ for example) is bound to both autoattack and a hot key( say Hot Bar 2 button 4)
When u click ~ it will activate both auttoattack and the hot button

I"ve found the rate for grease to be between 8 and 9 per hour constant foraging; which is pretty much identical to what the original poster listed (considering 100 seconds between forages). At 200 foraging skill you will never fail to get something, so modifiers will not help you unless you are sub 200 in skill. It's a dangerous zone to forage in, with see invis mobs and lots of activity; I have to stay right by the zone out while raiding on the other computer and hope I hear any danger in time.....

I tried it again the other night, and I foraged 15/hour with forage mastery 3.

If you can enter factory there is a perfectly safe spot where you do handin for time access. Just left of factory entrance.

PoI was my chance to kill 2 birds with one stone. My pet would plow through everything for their Saltpeter and my druid would be in tow with machete and mastery 1 grabbing up grease left and right. Soaked up a couple levels of experience too. Luckily, my need for grease ended not long after DoD. I get my Saltpeter from Corathus now and sold all of my excess grease for a neat profit in the Bazaar. Druid was level 56-58 with 200 foraging, machete, and mastery 1. Never kept count of the stats though. End result was all I was concerned with.

I'm a bit new to foraging all over again, breaking out an old 60 druid to forage for the grease.

Id like to leave him at the PoI zone in on my 2nd second system to forage while my main plays. Does binding the keys to auto attack etc allow for me to just leave ON auto attack (long shot i figured) and it will auto forage? Or must I actually hit a key (that is bound to) every 100seconds or so?

I'll do whatever is "legal" w/o resorting to a 3rd party program. Just making sure there isnt some allowed trick that will enable me to forage w/o having to tap a key every min or so. I figured this is a long shot, just making sure.

                Thanks everyone.

You are gonna have to push the button yourself. There are a couple tricks to make it easier though.
                  1. Put multiple forage commands in one hotkey with pauses.
                  2. Use either the /vplay command or an audio trigger to let you know when it's time to hit the hotkey again.

                  an example might be
                  /pause 1000, /doability 1
                  /pause 1000, /doability 1
                  /pause 1000, /doability 1
                  /pause 1000, /doability 1
                  /vplay 5

This will forage 4 times then your character will say hello. You could then autoinventory what you foraged and hit the key again. This would require interaction from you only once every 6-7 minutes, so you could watch tv or surf the web. You could use one that has the /autoinventory commands built in after every forage, but then you would have to push the button more often.
Also, the zone in is probably not the safest place in PoI to go afk, because sooner or later a train will hit you, but there are some safer spots inside the (less traveled) factory.
You probably need slightly more than 1000 in the pause to make up for lag

You cannot forage while attacking. My forage is mapped to right movement so I get this message alot while meleeing.

600 is the maximum per pause (at least according to the documentation...and I've tried higher values, it seems to just assume anything over 600 = 600.) That equates to 1 minute, ignoring lag. You can, of course have two pauses like so:

                      /pause 600,/doability 1
                      /pause 600

This would wait ~2 minutes after doing ability 1.

Yea, tried the pausing thing yesterday for like two hours and it's just broken. It's even dependant if EQ is in background or not.

Silly me, never really paying attention to the long pauses (and never really getting around to making a forage macro with a pause).
You would need something like this then
                          /pause 505, /doability 1
                          /pause 505, /autoinventory
                          /pause 505, /doability 1
                          /pause 505, /autoinventory
                          /vplay 1

(that's assuming that my memory of forage being on a 100 second timer is accurate)

That should work...but, a bit of advice based on experience...do the autoinventory first. That way, a spot of lag won't hinder you in any way. Otherwise, you will /autoinventory before you actually receive the forage sometimes, then forage again. You'll end up with a slowly building group of forages on your cursor if you aren't careful.

Of course...with 2 forages, I don't suppose it matters much, you would likely run into the same problem with the 2nd forage. Have I mentioned lag sucks? Throws a wrench into everything. :\

Well, that macro pauses 50 seconds between foraging and autoinventory, if you have 50 seconds of lag I suspect you are link dead .

/pause works for NEXT line, not the current line. So in the last example things happen like this:
                                forage
                                wait 50.5 seconds
                                autoinventory
                                wait 50.5 seconda
                                etc..
