As everyone has said EK is great for spidersilk with the added bonuses of hunting the lions for cat pelts at the same time. As far as SpiderLING silk is concerned, I've had my best fit of luck roaming up and down the newbie area in Everfrost (path from the PoK book to Blackburrow) In about 3 hours time I had 4 stacks for my efforts and thats with no tracking ability. I believe that my luck in drops was because I cannot track - i was forced to roam and so killed everything I encountered so things were respawning like mad.

I go to the Feerott for spiderling silk. All spiders large and small drop it there.

Feerott is supposed to be worse than it used to be, since the newbie quests went in.
Itzena Alhazared, Revenant of {Planeteers}, Vallon Zek. And also a seamstress.
Gelcea Macha, Wandering Animist of Tarew Marr. Will be a smith, one day.

Yes, four or five new quest items have been added to the Feerott spiderling loot table. It takes about twice as long to farm a stack of spiderling silk now.

I agree that EK is by far the best farming spot for Spider Silk but in your experience what is the best for Spiderling Silk? Best I can seem to find are the wanderers outside the entrance to Halas in Everfrost.

I have to agree with the EK spawn table being crags/crawlers, but I've also noticed that it may be cats/dogs too for farming pelts. I'm not sure what spawns with the carrion spiders. Griffons maybe?

As for spiderling, I usually do Innothule. Only problem I've had there is that some of the mobs can travel FAR from their spawn points, so I've found myself clearing out the entire south end of the zone of newbie mobs to get them spawning again. After that it seems like the place is covered in spiderlings. I used to do Everfrost, but it's much slower. Actually an odd thing I noticed that the larger spiders inside Gukta dropped a good amount of spiderling. There's really no place to AE them in there though.

                EK for maximum spider silk.

Guk for medium spider silk with down time to imbue or do CE combines.

Sad to hear that Feerot now sucks for spiderling silk.

Note to druids for DC'ing vs Booboo. I love Booboo as much as the next treehugger, but it breaks down like this: griffon < griffawn < griffene (maybe the other way around - I can't remember) < Booboo

But griffon is the guy you want. Fairly rare spawn, but hooo momma. DC him, throw whatever your fastest sow is (I was using SoE on both me and griff). Couple of fighting methods : have the griff guard, thorn yourself, cast that lvl 1 nuke to pull and let the griff obliterate everything at your feet and/or send the griff to kill wandering mobs nearby that you don't want to loot (i never loot snakes, muck's, etc.) by targeting and then /pet attack. The pet will remember the mobs you told it to kill in order and then do them all and then come back to you.

I never used track. Just move around with the griff, killing everything that moves, looting up what you want (pelts and silks).

When I used Booboo or one of the lower griffs, I'd have to keep them buffed and heal them regularly, which seemed a waste of mana.

                Anyway, try for the griffon.
