Go take a look at the Legacy of Ykesha tailoring section on the main site. That will tell you everything you want to know about what's described here.

As for where you get bamboo shoots?

    You don't.

It appears that the Erudites got the short end of the stick with their more difficult ribbon combine, and bamboo shoots are pretty close to impossible to come by.

Foraged Goodies in Lavastorm and the Overthere

Ashweed in Lavastorm is particularly rare. My druid has 200 foraging skill and I use a foraging machette with +15% to foraging skill. I average about 1 Ashweed out of 15 forages. I have not tried mass killing any critters here yet as it is too boring, but shadowmen definitely don't drop Ashweed.

Cursed Clover of Viesar is a still more rare than Ashweed with an average successful forage of 1 out 20. I have killed all the types of critters in this zone and I am positive that these only drop from the Cactus critters - Thorney and Spiked Succulents. If you kill these and forage at the same time you can have a stack of Clovers in around 2hours if your lucky. These can also be bought in zone from players for roughly 5pp each, I refuse to pay anymore than that.

I haven't found anything to kill to get them, unfortunately. I port my pet druid there when I'm doing emerald imbues for solstice robes, and forage whenever possible. I've got a couple stacks piled up that way. I've also contracted with a younger ranger who can actually get experience fighting there; I don't know if he ever sees any off of the mobs themselves, but he's gotten me quite a number just via forages.

Not nearly the number I'd like, all things considered, but enough that it's actually the research components that I'm short on for those robes. (On the other hand, I've got about five stacks of Salil's Writ 64 right waiting for swatch combines, but I still don't have nearly enough seahorse roe for the accompanying ribbons.)

Well, pandas drop the bamboo shoots...just not reliably enough nor is the forage reliable (1-2 an hour). Also, pandas are just tough for a wizard to track. =/ Time to move the little druid there to hunt.

I've actually foraged bamboo shoots fairly reliably while killing cats for pelts.

I've found cursed clovers to be a pretty common forage when my iksar was leveling in OT....and my twink druid in Field of Bone was getting lichenclovers all over the place.

Too bad I got the cursed clovers before LoY came out and destroyed them all

I don't know if I was lucky with this, but in 3 kills of the named panda in SB (Giang Yin?), he dropped a bamboo shoot each time (no hide on any of them ). Other than that, I have found that they are very tough to forage (for a bard anyway), foraging maybe one in 2-3 hours of killing pandas, and they drop almost as rarely (averaging maybe 5-6 total in 2-3 hours of solid tracking, killing and getting them to repop by killing any of the other mobs that might pop in place of them).

My druid was trying to forage Maneater Buds in the Swamp of No Hope, which seemed to be hopeless. So she starting killing the various Maneater plants and looted a bud off a Maneater Fern.

Lichenclover only seems to drop from Giants in the fort. In hundreds of giants I have never gotten any other than there. Honeyberry drops from Giants in the tunnel. I have never gotten it anywhere else.

                        Lucas,

My alt druid has been hunting in North Karana. Plains roots I'm not foraging nearly as much cabbages, but plains roots are also an uncommon drop. I've gotten them from both a variety of beetles, and bears and lions.

Haven't made the effort for plant shoots yet, but hope that helps.

I've had Lichenclover drop from the Drachnids in FV.

Have you killed enough to be able to guess at a drop rarity?

                            thanks,

Are ribbon combines racially restricted or just the final robe combines? Sorry, I can't seem to find this info anywhere, although I may be look right past it.

                              Thanks!

final robe combine is only racial restriction. I've been combining numerous types of ribbons to raise tailoring. Suck thing is plat ribbons cost 104pp and resale of combined ribbon is 23pp... They sell like hotcakes in bazaar too... NOT
so be prepared to take a 75% loss unless you are making ribbons you or a friend can combine into a robe.
