That is assuming you have no failures and you farm all your own Sunshard Ore. You are looking at at least 5% failure rate (which would be with 8% or greater mod + 350 or greater main state + Tailoring Mastery 3) and up to 15% with 5% + 255 stat + no mastery.

And at nearly 500pp + Sunshard Ore cost per failure, that gets very costly.

Having completed this exercise recently, I can confirm skill up rates drop to about 1 per 50 combines after 290 and my average rate of failure was 10% (with 8% mod, no mastery). 500 sunshard ore did not last very long and did not get me where I hoped to be.

Good luck if you can camp that many. I filled in with cultural water/symbols camping spiders in PON where the drop rate was excellent in comparison (NB this is race dependant - ymmv).

I did tailoring and smithing to 300 with Sunshard Ore - and found it impossible to camp my own. I spent about 2 million plat buying those that hit the bazaar, and weren't outrageously priced... nice if you can do it, but not really an "on the cheap" option.

Even at 1200p per Ore, I found it no costlier than buying Othmir Fur (etc) at regular bazaar rates, though.

while maybe not cheap, Arctic Wyvern armor is something that shouldn't cost you much if you do all the farming.

With sunshard ore you get three chances to fail the combine:

            Sunshard conduit
            Silver Conduit Cap
            Fitted Energeiac Leather Cowl

So you sure its only 5%-10% failure rate ?

Ores cost between 600-2k on bertox

I found 10% failure rate converting sunshards to conduit.

Making the conduit armor was not quite so bad, perhaps around 3% failure (this was at max skill for silver conduit) with the same failure rate for energeaic combines.

There may be more. There probably is more somewhere since when I clear the above, sometimes new leaves don't respawn so I guess there's a fixed number of ground spawn in Gfay and they are respawning elsewhere that I haven't found.

Thanks for that. It seems though that I need to employ a rogue or shaman for that sub-combine.
