  • Terrorantula-post revamp

Hello, I was doing the Sro...or...whatever there calling it now, terror cycle for silks today. I spawned Terrorantula and killed him, it died-gave up 7 silks as usual but NO little army of terrantulings. All the times ive killed it before it always spawned the army. Is there a chance the army wont spawn or is this a change? If anyone can confirm, be good to know.

The army of little terrantulings is spawned when you do some part of some Epic quest... I think Rogue.

Nope, Angel, that's a different event. Quite a while back, one or another of the tradeskill devs decided that terrorantula silk was too rare in the game. So he added a bunch of baby terrorantulas (I forget the exact name, something like "a bloody terrorantuling") that spawn when you kill Terrorantula. Something like 10-20 of them spawn when she dies, every time, and they can each drop up to eight silks.

I remember killing Terrorantula about a month or two back, and all of these mobs popped right on top of me. Scared the living daylights out of me. Then I realized they were all green and non-aggro, and blew a sigh of relief.

There's another event in SRo related to spiders, but that's not Terrorantula. I remember helping a friend with it about a year ago, but I don't recall the details.

I was farming Terrorantula right up to this last Monday and he would always spawn his bloody terrorantulings upon death.

Perhaps with the rebuilding of SouthRo, they put in the wrong Terrorantula.

I'm curious about the changes to Erudite cultural to "balance" us. I've spent two weeks gathering stuff all the while, Pleveling a CT worshipping cleric so I could have all the stuff to do about 200 combines of Fulvous Steelweave Bracers. I hope that they still trivial at 335.

I did not "Reduce" any trivials.

but there were a bunch of the old cultural (so no match for cultural armor... but at the time... high end) which were NO FAIL... meaning, sure you could make them easy... but there was also no way to gain skill on them.

As for the Terrorantula. Looking into it (another pair of dev's worked on that)

Indeed, Fulvous Steelweave Bracer still trivials at 335. whoot! Now if I could only pull about 500 blue diamonds out of my

Looking forward to the return of the Terrorantula v2.0

                  Syrath:

being a CT following Erudite also, i looked into doing Fulvuos steelweave also to raise tailoring. however i found that finding all the blue diamonds was a pain in the royal butt.

so instead i started camping PON for nightmare arachnid silks (not bad at lvl 70, easily duo it and keep it clear). to make http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_...r=035000000000 Master's Moonsilver Sleeves.

found it to be easier and i was hoping that there would be that DON increased chance to skill up doing those. so far the results aren't bad. and i can use any sparce blue diamonds for Jewel craftin

just an idea, you might find it suitting for yourself as well.

Yeah skdog. Desperation has set in and I've lost a bit of sanity in the process. My current skill is 273. I have 427 holgresh furs, 74 Nightmare Arachnid swatches, 73 Blue diamonds, and maybe 200 terrorantula swatches in the bank.

On my server, the holgresh furs sell for about the same price as a blue diamond and since it takes 4 furs and the distilled mana (at approx 170pp per) to do a combine and only one blue diamond per fulvous steelweave, I figured that I could maximize my # of combines by dumping the holgresh stuff and going with the much more tedious steelweave.

Being a cheap-o sure is a pain in the butt. Trying to maximize # of combines and keep costs down, one combine at a time.

                      Yeah. she is broken.

Will try and get her fixed next week. Sorry to not put a rush on it, but I have scads of things to do, and you can still kill her for some silk!

Hey much thanks, will help insure the erudite cultrual tailor does not go completely extinct. Another comment about the revamp that is not ts related. The pathing around the dunes is not so hot-my pet has hard time naviagateing them and he warps around ghosts in and out a lot..Fyi

The spider spawn cycle also has some baby terrorantulings. Just kill every spider in the desert part (and I do mean every spider). They'll spawn eventually.

The current status of Big T is as follows. Terrorantula is, atm a "Fabled" mob. Now when it is killed it drops its usual assortment of items along with the 'Fabled Terrantula Leg', which is embarrassingly bad enough to not even bother announceing that its rotting. It does however put up a fairly decent fight as it causes my pet no small amount of damage before it dies, but no matter. The little T's .....'almost' spawn now. What I mean by this is once the Big T dies, the army.....does in fact appear, however they are not targetable and imeditealy wink out of existance within a few seconds. They have done this now on 2 seperate occasions. I think it can be attributed to the fableds causing a problem somehow, perhaps when the fableds are over we will see what happens then.
