      Hi all,

Coming back to the game after a two year break and after reading this post have a question--what do you mean about buying your way to 300 with AA?

      Thanks,

Probably meant they used Tailoring Mastery AA plus whatever skill to get the same success rate as if they had skill 300 w/o the AA.

Yeah what mewkus said.. plus salvage is a great AA as well (salvage 3). You will notice that with Mastery 3 and Salvage 3 you will have great success sub 300. However with GM armor being well over 300 trivial.. pushing for 300 is still the way to go.

The success caps on GM armor are set so that 250 with mastery 3 is the best you can get.

Yeah, as soon as you get mastery 3 in any skill, I will postulate that having 250 skill or 300 skill makes very very little difference in succes rate. Especially on GM stuff due to the success cap.

                Stopping at 250

Really? So, on my 255-ish tailor, with TM3 and Salvage 3, I'll have just as much luck making the GM DoN chest piece as the Master's DoN chest piece? Wow. Time to start saving some metallic drake scales, I guess.

I haven't failed any GM armor yet (6 attempts) and only failed one symbol (7 attempts). That is with 257 tailoring / 252 smithing, mastery 3 in both.

Well, checking out these boards today (long time user of the site, but never made it to the forum) turned out to be a good thing. Just made my GM Brambleborn Cuirass. It's too bad that wood elf tailors are so common that making the things for profit isn't really an option, but oh well...
