Hopefully they will get these balanced a bit better before too long. At least those needing Storm Volaas hair and Great Reptile Teeth have something to make. Dwarves get no cultural tailoring of any type. You can make a Dwarven Sewing Kit, but I don't know why you would bother.

Also, I think the bit about having drops in a keyed zone was in reference to Great Reptile Hides dropping in Veeshan's Peak. Although CT seems like a great place for those to drop.

Any ETA on the change for this? I've put off tailoring for awhile (at 252 now) thinking this might be changed soon. Made a couple arms out of the few hairs I actually managed to get.

Working on spell research now for now. Or I'll go kill off othmirs soon. . .

Pain is the rear for High elf tailors

I tried to take these guys with my 67 wiz and 66 mage. No luck. To many adds/too hard of mobs. When will this inequity be fixed so that high elf tailors can actually make some master items?

I found one of these while vendor diving last week.

/ducks from the swarm of angry elvish sewing needles thrown at him

I'd like to sell this at a reasonable price (although a dorf's still got to eat), but given its rarity I've never seen another one up for sale to compare. I'm on luclin server which traditionally had higher pricing, but I don't know how we compare anymore since Veeshan merged with us. Any thoughts? What would you pay for it in the bazaar?

You can split them using the bad pathing and root. They are somewhat leashed to the fort, so pull 2, root one and run. When far away kite and wait for root to fade. The rooted mob will return to its spawn and you can kill the other one.

hmm. 60 tank, 59 monk, 52 cleric, 60 ench, 61 mage, and a 56 shammy and we handled the giants fine. Not fast killing but fine. In fact I made almost 20k in my rolls on storm vallas hair on my cleric in 3 1/2 hours or so (at 1500pp a peice so do the math).

Now, take the Great Reptile Tooth. 70 Ranger (my main), 64 cleric, 65 beast, outkilling repops for 6 hours and we saw 1. They gave it to me out of pity.

The only other 2 known drop places are Plane of Earth (I still need Agnarr to test that) and Veashan's Peak which is keyed and requires a raid and no guilds are even bothering to raid that.

Plane of Storms requires a PoJ Trial which many, many people are doing due to Planar prograions, or level 55+.

So you tell me which is worse?

Now my beastlord has it easy and I hope to god they don't change that. He has Shissar Scales. Which at under 58 a well equipped beastlord can farm those, but others do to so it can sometimes be a fight over zone in, but slow killing at 58. At 63 where my beast currently sits I can farm the entrance + 2 to 4 mobs from the room to the right and 2 to 4 down the hall depending on buffs and whether I'm willing to spare the plat for heal potions or not. I can also get a reasonable amount over time.

I agree changes need to be made, but those of you with Storm Vollas hair don't have a lot to complain about if you have friends in game since you can grab your friends, put together a full group, and go killl the mobs. Same with Shissar Scales, and many of the other cultural.

It's the ones that put us into zones that are flagged/keyed restricted that are the worst. I have three froglok's on my account two of them are approaching 55 and low and behold what do I find they take to make master's cultural? Great Reptile tooth again. I only hope I get Agnarr done soon or I may be waiting a while to get them there master's.

We understand your frustration, you are not alone. Ngreth has stated that it is in his top 3 list of priorities. We just have to be patient. He has said that the next patch will most likely not be until February, and we still don't know if the changes will be included then. I am confident that when he says he is working on the problems that he is working on these problems and they will be fixed when he can get it all done.

As a general thing that I have seen is that they don't seem to patch more than once a month unless there was something critical that came up.

                        Well,

As much as I would like to go with the flow, I must say that I have farmed in roughly 2 days, rougly 3 stacks of storm volaas hair.

1 Group of level 70 casters. Yeah, I coulda done it prolly at level 67. Pious Elixor is your friend.

How? well, in part it's a trade secret. It does involve snare for the split, though.

After that, it's intelligent pulling. One can learn this skill in Nurga.

Oh, yeah, I didn't even THINK about doing the Building with the SK epic mob in it.

It is possible to out run their agro radius. Granted, after awhile of being outside their agro radius they will forget about you, and warp back to their spawn pt, or, hopefully simply walk. <this is not my best method, but, it is one that I employ from time to time.>

I have managed to farm enough hair to have a BP, Legs, 3 or 5 bracers, 2 caps, 2 sleeves, ummmmm..... could have 1 or two other pieces. Oh, yeah, a couple 3 failed combines.

It is NOT easy. It IS tedious. I broke down and killed a couple of keying named for giggles along the way. <they were Exciting!!>

Can they be solo'd? Well, if you have a SK or Bst of level 70 with around 9K unbuffed hp, yeah, should be able to solo them.

Is it a bit harder to aquire the parts than was intended? One would hope so.

Cause, if the force that was susposed to be required to get the hair was of the order to be able to kill the named for keying, welllllllll.............

Course, Negreth has already said that they made it a bit tougher than was really intended.

Anyway, now to find a source for crushed diamond dust... heh. BTW, drop rate on that seems to have dropped dramtically since DoN's release. Dramatically. I can recall going to velks, and getting 4 to 9 per 5 hour run. Now, am lucky to get ONE in 3 hours.

                        Anyway,

The best spot I've found for CDD is under the ice in Icewell Keep, theres like a 90% chance of dropping a crushed gem of some kind there, however there's a limited number of mobs and I can usually outkill the repops.

You can pull the building with the SK epic mob very simply (like I described in a post above).

Just hug the walls away from that named, eventually you will figure how to aggro every mob inside except the epic named.

Yeah, well of course the giants aren't hard for a full group of level 70s. But try soloing them for awhile and see how many hairs you get. It's about 1 hair per hour The point is it shouldn't take a group of 70s to farm MASTER level components. That amount of force should be only for Grandmaster.

Another fun thing about giants while solo, some of them have this FD proc. So I'm out there with my pet tanking, and suddenly you will see "Jabaner0000 has fallen to the ground".

Well the pet gets right back up, but what happens is the FD causes all the pet aggro to dump onto ME! So now I'm getting chain summoned by the giant. And if it happened that I pulled 2 giants, with both of them doing that, I eventually go squish from being summoned and beat on over and over.
