I'd save augs till last. Both armor and augs use 1 swatch but the armor uses the threads instead of lambent stones - threads being cheaper than the ~50pp that lambent stones cost, unless you farm them. If you want to farm the lambent stones, then knock yourself out. There is also the cost of the diety water as well when you go the aug route. I also here that the HG's of Rathe Mountains are/were missing? If so, that puts a crimp on the lambent stone supply.

Using the cultural threads is much easier since they are store-bought, imo, making armor a better path than augs as long as the combine only uses 1 swatch. Anyhow, any of the options aren't bad. Whatever works best for you.

Thanks for the help, I need to farm mass amounts of HQ Cat pelts though... since they run for 200-300p in my server and i'm kinda poor... but anyway it ain't so bad to farm them compared to other pelts.

I've been working on the Expert Armor, and it seems to be going pretty well. I'm a DE, so I've been farming the Drachnids for silk, and it goes pretty quick. Not too costly, but it does suck to destroy all that stuff. I don't have the patience to Bazaar it. Just wish it was tributable....

The hill giants in Rathe have been moved, they are no longer on hill giant hill, instead they roam around the hill where the Paladin camp is. I killed a few the other night, just about anything roaming on that hill is a ph though it looks like, I got there and there were 2 up so I started killing anything that moved on that hill and there were as many as 8-10 up at a time after awhile.
Found a few lambent stones on a vendor as well so it was a good trip.

Hynid Manes can usually be purchased fairly inexpensively (< 200pp) considering you you only need one. The other components are all fairly easy to get ahold of.

I've been farming HQ hides so far and these are my observations:

EK is a much better place to farm than Stonebrunt. Yes, SB does have no ruined ones on their loot table BUT HQ drops rarely. Overall its been going REAL slow, and right now im thinking of just finishing getting a whole bag of HQ's and making them and just keep on skilling with Solstice Robes... at 189 skill atm though.

Any recommendations?

Before I even thought of Expert's I tried Phase Spider Threads
but the droprate for Phase Spider Silk is just horrible!! However, if you're doing bard 1.5s for guildies or alts... grab all you can! :P

hey chip also rember that there is a quest some where (i dont know where) that lets you turn in 3 of a lower qty hide for one of the one rank higher for antonica hides (3 Low QTY = 1 med QTY 3 Med QTY = 1 HQ) this make the cat pelts a lot more tolerable or i would think so.

I'm a 70 necro and I've soloed nameds in WoS. It IS doable with shielding and defensive AA's. The lifetap AA's help immensly as well, as well as a good magic focus. Basically you popcorn agro between yourself and pet(pet should at least have conviction and damage rune). It's not easy, and I have died doing it. But, it can be done. I've only done this with the named below the wall. I'm not uber by any means. I raid buff to 9100hps.

The casual necro isn't going to have access to Shielding items or have 9k hps raid buffed, which was my main point. Saying Anguish was probably hyperbole, though, I admit.
