Being a cleric, I needed to find a way to get this without bugging my druid friends. So this is what I did.

-Ran around aggroing everything on the island except the Kerrans.

-After pulling 20 to 30 spiders, snakes, bats, whisps, zombies, and madmen...I found a nice spot far away from any Kerran.

-Cast upheaval...lvl 52 cleric AoE spell. BOOM everything you aggroed is dead.

This gets you high volume kills which you need. I averaged 1 to 2 sea horse roe per mass pull. They ONLY dropped from the snakes and the spiders. But doing it with this technique I also walked away with 7 GLS, about 65pp in stackable giant bat furs and wings, snake scales, etc., and the knowledge that I harvested almost a stack of roe in a couple hours of running around and spending time to med while cleaning the house. If I had a KEI and simply sat down to it, I could have easily gotten a stack an hour with this technique.

Good luck hunting for those of you who can not forage...

      Yikes.

I brought my level 11 druid here the other day. I'll probably leave it here and use forage when I'm near the computer but doing something in the real world.
My first forage, amazingly enough, was a seahorse roe. Didn't get any others after that, but I was only there for a short time before I logged off. I also killed a couple of vampire bats, and for a moment there, got excited when I saw the loot. Then I realized that the item that looked like roe (a jar icon) was actually bat spit.
      Um...
      Okay...

          What can I say.

I guess its too much trouble for the rogues to bottle it themselves.

            Degra's on the right track.

            Degra's approach works real well.

Of course, my best AE is Word of Spirit, but I happen to be able to melee, so it all evens out.

Only seen the Roe come from Spiders and Snakes, never a Seahorse.

Trying to find what drops the Bamboo Shoots in Stonebrunt, having little success.

I had my druid in erudes crossing all day yesterday in the Morning I was running around Killing everything but the cats and the only mobs that dropped any roe were the spiders and only ended up getting 2 drops from that. so in 9 or so hours of forageing and a little killing I ended up with 20 SeaHorse Roe.

                  bamboo

I have foraged a number of bamboo shoots in stonebrunt. Since this has been a hunting ground for me for quite some time I was surprised to see a new item on the forage list. I have so far foraged about half a dozen in just running through stonebrunt on my way to loy.

so find a forager - or look in the bazaar... as people discover an item has a value it usually ends up there...

                    Seahorse Roe on the snakes...

                    Snakes also have Roe, IIRC.

Well, I've started leveling up my "mule" characters that no longer need to hold all my tradeskill items. I have been taking them to Erud's Crossing because of the XP bonus, but I decided to keep track of where I was getting roe. So far, the best critter to get roe off of has been the snakes. The spiders drop it but not as frequently and I have yet to see the bats or wisps drop it. I've also killed the sea horses every time I see them up, but no roe so far. (Say that ten times fast.) Oddly enough they do seem to drop a lot of fresh fish . Now, if it were only that easy to get the bamboo. :?

My guess would be the pandas in Stonebrunt for the Bamboo Shafts...don't know for sure but that's where I would start looking.....in fact I might today...hmm.

I murdered poor unsuspecting pandas one morning for a few hours and never got a single shoot. My guess would be that I killed 40 or 50 cubs, young, and elders. I'm curious to know what other folks are finding in the way of drop rate.

                              /sigh

Yup bamboo shoot drop rates suck huge. You are not alone.
Seahorse roe is common off spiders snakes and seahorses.Nothing else that I saw but you should clear bats and beetles as I think they all have the same spawn table.A stack an hour without foraging is not impossible.I do not recommend DCing the shaman epic guy as a pet he spends too much time slowing spiders and his pathing sucks when you go in the water for the seahorses.
