Don't think hynid hair is useful over 250, I could be wrong though. I'm at 270 tailoring now, with a BUNCH of arctic wyvern & silk swatch & gem studded chains READY TO GO BABY!!

C'mon Maddoc, how about some advanced warning before drastically changing trivial levels?

        stuck

i have about 100 chains and 1k swatches still collecting dust in my bank as well. I am hoping that they pull their heads out of their butts and change the trivial back for at least 24 hours. BUT I am not holding my breath. I might just say screw tailoring and sony. I am stuck at 282 in fletching as well, so I am a bit peeved atm with tradeskills.

Of the ones listed, I think the WW (burrower, hound, mastodon) and CS (othmir) seem the most reasonable to get materials for.

With the rarity and cost of Feran/Murk/Bazu blood (talking a minimum of 3k per blood on my server), it's just not reasonable for steady skillups, although you could throw a few combines in here and there.

I would also add in LoY robes up to their trivial at 262.

Another option would be lower end PoP stuff, such as from PoN... if you're willing to farm some spiders (might even get a little exp.), the sap can often be found in the bazaar for cheap.

And on a hopeful note, might just get something new as hinted at by the devs.

Probably just my good luck, but it seems after patch skillups have been coming more often. About 55 combines has yielded 8 skillups (282-290 on cultural master tailoring). I'm sure I'll be told it's just the RNG being nice, but anyone else think that maybe in that nerf patch they made it easier to skillup?

                DoN Master's Cultural Tailoring

This is only valid for tradeskillers level 60 or above, but the trivials on Master's cultural armor go from 263 to 302. And all you (generally) have to farm, is 1000s of nightmare arachnid silks, storm volass hair, racnar hides, shimmering ukun hides, ice silk, or shissar scales, depending on race.

And after reading another post, you don't even have to be level 60+, the armor combines are apparently skill restricted, not level restricted (while the opposite is true for the symbols). So if you can get the supplies, any level can skill up tailoring to 300 using master's armor combines.

only 235 tailor here but would have to disagree on the better skill up rate.

                  Yesterdays attempts:
                  -60 solstice ceremonial robes
                  -2 feran hide tunics
                  -2 Robes of Ancient Earth
                  -2 Earthweave Pantaloons
                  -3 Earthweave Gloves
                  -1 Murkglider Robe
                  -23 Robe of Lodestone
                  -7 Robe of Obliteration

total skill ups on those attempts (monk with 305 wisdom)... 2 =(
I believe in having a bad day but this would have been an awefull day if they had upped the skill up rates.

As for my way to 300... Im grabbing anything in the bazaar that I can use to get there, supplies for tailoring have gone pretty rare on my server. Using Feran/Bazu/Murkglider, PoP tailoring combines, Human Cultural, Othmir Furs, and probably going to blow more pp away on Solstice robes since I still have almost 150 gem studded chains left (still 180 solstice robes banked though =( since our server prizes crashed to 100pp each, and the gem studded chains aren't going for much more... doubting wether or not to vendor sell m for a few pp or grab the 37 triv points a piece for m....)

As for the DoN cultural combines... up to the expert book atm... Dragon Necropolis is my next part for the (human-freeport) Masters Book.. spend 8 hours in there so far with guildies, everyone hates the zone by now including me, and I'm probably going to give up on that book, next book requires lvl 70 to start on the quest and I don't plan on ever hitting that level on my monk anyway.

-I did baking, brewing and jewelry to 300 within 2days total....
-Pottery and Smithing to 300 will probably take me 2-3 days each once I get the real life time to do them.
-Don't have the AA's yet to get my fletching to 300 yet
-And tailoring 300 will probably take me a few months...... not sure what sony ment with "Balancing" the tradeskills by lowering the trivials on the velious combines? On any other tradeskill you can get to 300 on vendorsold items in combination with other tradeskill subcombines, imbues & enchantements and a ton of precombines*..... seems to me they just made the hardest tradeskill even harder

Anyways... back to the bazaar /buyer mode... hoping people will sell me a few thousand othmir furs and other tailoring components =P

What they meant is they are intent on lowering the trivials for all tradeskills.

Another side note... the Grandmaster's Book requires level 65, not 70.

Hmm DoN data submission forum people have stated lvl 70... also, I did the quest on a lvl 65/85 monk... it wont be handed to me because the NPC gives the msg it would be too dangerous for me and she won't send me to my own death......? I'm talking about the last book here

They lowered the required level for them last week. 65 for the GM book now.

Velius tailoring, ive heard its been nerfed, but the recipes still show varoius values from skill lvl 250 and up to 300+
Is that becouse they havent been updated yet or was it only the solstice robe who got hit ?

The trivials listed on EQTraders are only updated when someone reports in-game confirmation of new trivials. When someone checks the trivial in the UI and reports it here, we update the trivial in the EQTC database. The reason you see a mix of 335 and 252 for Velious leathers is that no one has reported whether the ones listed at 335 have changed yet. It is probable that they are all 252 now (hence the note on those recipes), but we won't change it until it's confirmed in game.
