EVERYONE please /feedback your thoughts on the tailoring trivial level changes. If you like it or if you don't like it and why.

    I don't like it and here's why.

    1. the recipies changed were not quick or cheap or easy methods of skilling up, no reason to change the trivial levels. if it was all storebought components, then I could understand changing the trivials, but this isn't the case.

    2. there was no warning of the upcoming trivial level changes, thus people are sitting on huge stockpiles of tradeskill materials that are now useless

    3. people who play 24/7 were able to skill up their tailoring to 300 right away and now the more casual gamer is at an even larger disadvantage over the power-gamer. Those that already skilled tailoring to 300 on the stuff that was nerfed can now make items that the rest of us can't compete with on price due to the lower success rates due to lower skill levels.

100% agree with you, at the very least, notice should have been given due to the excessive time many of us have sunk into gathering these components.

Also one other point. The correct time to change trivial levels is at the SAME TIME that you raise the skill caps. NOT a month afterwards.

If they would have made all these changes with the release if DoN I would have had no problem with them -- everyone's path to 300 in tailoring would have been equally difficult. But to do it NOW? That's ludicrous.

Prior to DoN when people didn't know the skill caps were going up, it's not likely that people had huge inventories of stuff to combine if they were at 250 skill.. and if they weren't at 250 skill, then the materials are still useful to them to skill to 250. But then to change it retroactively a month after release so that those that have huge amounts of play time and only do tailoring are at 300 when the rest of us just have started accumulating hordes of tradeskill materials that are now worthless? We're being penalized twice.

Before I have to close this thread, remember the rules. No ranting outside of PSR, and no Sony bashing or uber/casual hate threads. I suggest using this thread to discuss positive ways to /feedback your opinions on the changes, and to encourage additional positive changes to suggest to help offset any nerfs. Thanks, and carry on,

I don't mind if they were going to change the skill levels down, even three months after the release. However, the thing that did bother me is that they did so without any notice at all to those whom may have been stockpiling supplies. Granted, I have not sat down yet to gather any supplies for those since DoN came out, I have been busy working on other things with my characters so I only barely took a hit on things. If people remember, Fine Steel Armor was also reduced in Trivial between expansions without warning, however Fine Steel was almost mostly vendor purchased items.

My feedback will be outlining a few key points:
*The changes were made with no notification to the player base and that a majority of tradeskillers stockpile and farm one section of components, then another. I usually farm all my Velium, then the Hides and usually by that point, I will have been able to buy enough Tanin parts in the bazaar to do the combine. However that process can take many days or weeks depending on how my drops go.

*The change should have been made when DoN came out, so that all were on an equal tradeskilling base. Though it overall doesn't affect me, I have enough plat in the bank that I could have 300 all my trades in the first two weeks of DoN.

*These combines that were lowered in Trivial were not easy to come by compared to the typical smithing combines. Yes, overall working on Velious Leathers and Solstice Robes are cheaper than Pure Enchanted Velium Bars and Mistletoe Cutting Sickles but both of the smithing combines are completely vendor purchasable. They even out in my eyes, but the tailoring combines take more time.

Those are my three key points, but overall, I don't mind that they lowered trivial rates for the most part. But there should remain atleast one reasonably farmable means to getting up to 300. Every tradeskill has atleast one, there really are none for tailoring anymore. But then again, maybe this is a way to push tradeskillers to do Cultural armor. But then again, I can't see a reason to push anyone to do Cultural armor simply because everyone is already working at it, it seems.

            My Feedback:

In regards to your trivial changes to the Ceremonial solstice robe and to the Velious tailoring combines, I believe this is not in the best interests of the community.
Aside from the point that you have made this change a full month after raising the trivial and the stocks of supplies people have been farming for skillups are now worthless to them, this change elimiates all but the most difficult of skillup paths for tailors.

Omens of War: This expansion gave us Feran and Murkglider recipies which trivial at 282. Making them useless for getting to 300 along with the fact that the scarcity of bloods and need for large quantities of them (up to 4 per combine) make it impractical for skilling up.

Gates of Discord: no high level recipies available.

Planes of Power: The difficulty of farming drops in these zones and scarcity of some needed components makes these recipies impractical for use as a skillup path.

Shadows Of Luclin: no trivials higher than 242

Tae Ew tailoring: No trivials higher than 295 and the difficulty of farming in the temple of Cazic Thule and the rare drop rate makes these recipies also impractical.

LoY robes: all trivial at 262 tops and not avalable to all races.

Old Cultural: not available to races other than Erudite, Wood elves and Halflings

Thus leaving the Solstice Robes and Velious tailoring paths as the only ones available to all races for skillups. The tedious necessity of farming all the components still made these recipies either expensive if you purchased the items from players or time consuming if you gathered them all yourself. Hence perfectly comparable to Pottery/Smithing/Baking/ Jewelcraft and other Tradeskills with vendor-purchasable skillup paths.

You have effectively left us with only the new cultural tailoring for skillups and these are not good skillup paths as the components required for the master's armor (trivial 290 for sleeves and 304 for Chest/Legs) are Just as rare and difficult to find for some races as the Elemental Dropped components for PoP armor. Those would be Racnar Hide, Storm Volaas Hair, Nightmare Arachnid Silk, Ice Silk, Shissar Scales and Shimmering Ukun hides.
Tailoring is now going to be 4 times as hard as any other tradeskill once again.

I ask that you please reconsider this ill-considered adjustment of trivial levels.

              Feedback

I did send Feedback to the game people in game using the /feedback command. The biggest thing I touched on was there are now 300 tailors who skilled up on things that are not available any longer. We should have the same options available to us that they had, or they should lose their skillups and be set back at 250. It puts those of us at 250 at a HUGE disadvantage. If they had done it simultaniously with the cap-raise, yeah, I would have been upset, but we would all be in the same boat. At least the playing field would have been level.

I appeciate the post that went through each expansion detailing the options for tailors that came with each, as that confirmed what I had suspected that my options are limited.

Also, just an FYI, Tailors was obviously a specific target for nerfing. Funny how the Solstice robe was nerfed down to 252, yet the Gem Studded chain to make it is STILL 330. I know it seems like a far-out accusation, but it is almost as if they are targetting us intentionally.

send them a feedback after 5 min online yesterday
..and send another one just before going to bed.
                -and they were not positive.
changing trivial is one thing, but doing it now.. after some ppl reached 300,and the rest of us can just sit there, stare at our tailoring skill.
i told them something like i think it sucks, and plz think twice and give us at least solstice robe back..
i doubt we can change anything, even with 200 feedbacks every day. but at least we should try !
dont give up.. keep spammin =)

I am sitting at 234 tailoring...and was actually thinking I'd use the master cultural as my skillup path, anyway...so I am relatively unaffected by this.

But to ask that people who had managed to skillup to 300 be reset to 250? Or even to 252?? Come on. They put the time/money/effort into it somehow. Sure, most of them are probably uber-guild members with amounts of plat available that would buy everything I own on ALL of my characters many times over, but they still did it.

And I would have done it too had it not been for this ridiculous change in trivials. I have over 300 wyvern hides, 300 cod oils, and have spent hours collecting enough velium to make my attempts to get to 300, to say that they deserve to be there and I'm not is crazy. It's all about timing and SoE mismanaged this completely. They should have just changed the trivials when the new expansion came out or at the very least given us an advanced warning this was going to take place so we could clear out our banks of what is now useless garbage.

Should I sell my useless components so others who are lower than me be able to take the easy road and catch up to me and then compete with me after I've done it the hard way? Not gonna happen.

Remember, please keep this focused on productive ways to get this new change removed, and not to begin ranting on lost supplies and pp. It's been pretty good so far, and by all means take your finalized thoughts to the Sony boards as well as discussing them here.

I have spent over 100kp buying arctic wyvern hides, cod oils and such, numerous hours of mind numbing fishing and greenie farming. Now i have hundreds of these items stockpiled in my bank and they are all utterly worthless.
At the very least there should have been a weeks prior warning so we could use up our stockpiles. Unless they plan on compensating my wasted time and plat, the trivials need to be changed back - for a week or 2 at least, although given how much time and plat these velious pieces take to collect i see no reason for the trivial to be lowered at all.

I intend on doing /feedback EVERY day im online until something is done, i suggest everyone else does the same, and go to the eqlive site and make your feelings heard there too.

If it's a way to push tradeskillers to do the cultural armor.. the correct way to do that is to drastically increase the drop rates of the components needed to make the cultural. I'm all for doing cultural tailoring.. but... if the drop rate is one item per 8 hours farming, and I might lose the roll on it, and the prices for the item in the bazaar are 20k each item... that's not a way to make armor or learn a skill, it's a way to add frustration and annoyance to the game.

Someone remind me again, why do I still pay to play Everquest?

And yes, I have plenty of plat to spend on tailoring.. I have well over a million in the bank right now. I'm not an uber guild member at the moment, just a savy horse trader and skilled craftsman and hard worker.

But I didn't see the message "work on tailoring first instead of pottery, brewing, baking, jewelcraft" so I spent my limited time and unlimited plat getting to 300 in each of these four skills, then when I go to use up my tailoring supplies.. NERF... what do I do with 2000 silk swatches that nobody wants to buy?
