ok here's what i can use:

    57 kitty bst
    25 halfling dru
    12 elf chanter
    4 ikky shaman

i have other mules but nothing i think will work. current skill is 175ish. with the toons i have what would be the cheapest items to make if i go and kill/forage everything myself? i know i can make acrylia, ribbons, velious, (maybe GoD?), but not sure what is the really cheap way. so i ask my fellow tailors what they perceive to be the cheapest if all materials are hunted for and not bought. if i need another toon then i can make it

Read the FAQ. Good deal of information there.

Read the Beginner's Guide to Tailoring. This is an excellent guide all the way to 250.

The information has been provided on the site for you to make your own consideration of which factors will best work for you. Asking for others to simply write you a specific guide is not likely to get a very friendly response. There are no super-secret fast, cheap and easy paths to 250 skill in tailoring (which is probably the hardest tradeskill to master).

Farming and or foraging everything yourself is the cheapest way to gather materials, but it is also the slowest. You'll have to look at the factors, the tivials, and decide for yourself what you're willing to endure in your quest for grandmastery.

You have two options really: Fast & Expensive or Cheap & Slow.

If you want cheap, you will have to farm things yourself, as much as possible. That's why it's gonna be slow. I found this thread "Optioons for the Poor?" that was already discussing cheap alternatives, check it out.

Also, look at the Quick Trivial List in the database, and determine what recipes may be do-able for you on your budget, with the characters available to you for farming.

Good luck, and do check out the FAQ and teh tailoring guide links that Lothay pointed out!

I would recomend LoY Ribbons to 182 at least using the Steam Dye which you can either trivially farm with one of your higher chars, or get xp for (maybe) with one of your lower level guys.

From there (which is where I am) I'm currently doing acrylia studded tunics (yes tunics) and it is costing me on average about -500pp an attempt. Yes -500 since I sell all my sucesses in the bazzar at a price that more than covers my failures :-)

So that was NEGATIVE 500pp? Which means you make about 500pp per skill up? Not bad.

Not skill up, average per attempt :-)

I guess that would make about 10k per skill up :-)
'Course I have not got one yet :-P

Having said that once people start undercutting me, out buying me for the components and that sort of thing I will be sure to loose money.

Most people do masks because they only take one stud and so are "cheaper" and definatly faster. However masks sell for ~0pp while Tunics, cloaks and legs sell for *your price may vary* 300-1500pp which should mean that you at least get the cost of sucesses back (worst case) and best case you make a bit of pp on the side :-)

HTH, and hope I have not blown my market :-P
