Anytime someone says 'just go buy it' and they are referring to no-drop items, i always assume they play on the Firiona Vie server, where pretty much everything in the game (with a few small exceptions) is dropable.

People who have played exclusively on the FV server often forget that on all the other servers, there sa LOT of no-drop items.

Yeah, biles were a great market, 800p a shot, good way to make cash back in your early 50's just before the young ones went TLC.

Anyway, best tip I can say is that I hope one of you is nightblind (human/barbarian/erudite) because that makes it *marginally* easier to find the glowers.

Have one person sit south of the caves by the glowing river. The other (nightblind one preferrably) wanders the entire southern portion of the zone, from Velk's over to Eastern Wastes. Pull any and ALL shardwurms that you see.

Wipe the place clean and you'll find your glowers.

Oh, and "young" shardwurms seem to have a noticeably higher drop rate.

Unlike many other posters, I got all my biles inside the caves. The 'glow' was fairly obvious to me. It was easier to kill the mobs inside the caves because they were crowded together. I'd just keep killing and watching the spawn points for the telltale wurm glow. Then it was mass nuke time before some other bile hunter arrived.

It probably took about 12 hours total hunting over a few days to get all of them. It could take much longer depending on your luck, and your ability to quickly kill wurms so that bile carriers could spawn.

I have sympathy for those that can't see the 'glow'. You have little chance competing against players that can see the glow. You can kill to your heart's content, but a player that can see the glow will immediately pick out the right target.

I got 3 of my 5 from inside the caves. Got one by accident as I was leaving Velks once. Someone had killed a wurm right outside the entrance to velks and it was rotting, less than a minute on the timer. I checked the corpse and it had a bile... I about wet myself. Got the 5th from random slaughter outside in the Yard.

One down..... and it was gonna rot, luck had it that I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. 2 more hours later after endless killing, still have just the one...

I just did this a few days ago. I’ve had shawl 3 sitting in the bank for ages and decided to just go for it and try to finish the 8th shawl ASAP. I finished shawls 4, 5 and 6 this last week and I’m only a couple of items away from trying my combine for the 7th shawl. *crosses furry Vah Shir fingers*

I had heard how difficult it was to find the biles for the 5th shawl, but I looted all five in about an hour. I had about an hour before I needed to leave for work one morning so I decided to do some hunting. I don’t have tracking so I stayed in the general area between the Camp of Vores the Hunter and Velketor’s Labyrinth. At level 62 the lizards were green to me and my spirit puppy didn’t have any problem chewing through them fairly quickly. I’ve read about watching for the glowing Shardwurms, I even found one that was glowing and looted its Glowing Wurm Bile. And while this may work well for those who are getting XP from hunting the wurms I wouldn’t bother if they are green to you. The reason being that you need to kill lots of wurms to get the ones with bile to spawn. If you only kill the glowing wurms then chances are the ones that respawn to take their place won’t have that magical glow. For about an hour I killed every wurm I could find and looted bile number five before I had to leave for work. I may have just gotten lucky, but if your capable of doing so I feel utter carnage is the way to go.
