  • Bile for Shawl

I believe I have read everything there is about the Shawl quest. I'm now to the point of farming the biles. I have a partner, 61 necro that is also doing the shawl quest and we have been hunting everything together thus far. We have been hunting the biles in the cave for 3 nights (cuople hours each sitting) now, over these three sittings we have not seen one drop thus far.

We have discussed waiting until night time to look for the glowing wurms, it's just so much easier to clear the caves instead of running around EW tracking them. Killing the caves = no down time and plenty of wurms to kill.

I know the answer before I ask.... but has anyone seen these drop recently? I would have thought that we would have had at least one by now.

As far as I know, they dont drop from mobs that spawn in the caves. the mobes that spawn around Vores the Hunter and the other valley drop them most. Glowing is indeed hte way to go, just run about and kill any wurms you see, one will eventually drop. I can usually gather 5 in 2 hours unless RNG is screwing with me

Hours and hours inside the cave = no biles. 30 minutes outside = 4 biles.

I do believe they spawn in the caves on occasion. I had someone let me loot one back in the Crystalline Wurm area when I was looking for them.

I've hunted for the biles for myself (once each on two servers) and several times for friends. Don't do the caves - you'll never get'em there (whether one drops there occ. or not).

South the caves in the "yard" and in the adjacent hills. Take off your glowy gear (if you have any) and look for the glow.

Kill everything with "wurm" in it's name. You'll get'em. =)

I usually hunted where all the young ones roam. I did get my 4th one from one inside the caves that was glowing. This was all some time ago now, back when I actually got xp for them.

              drops

The drop rate is much higher outside the caves to the South around the Vores Hunter area. Target the area -6000,0 and kill all the wurms there.

They do drop inside the cave, but I've only seen it once.

It is difficult to see this lighting effect even at night. It depends on a lot of things, such as your viewing angle, how bright you are, your video settings etc
Your best bet is just to kill anything that's a wurm.

I have seen them drop in the tunnel TO the caves, but never in the caves themselves.

I have helped hunt these biles more times than I care to admit. Bothe for myself and friends.... I hate those stupid Shardwurms

One thing that really helped me is getting a lev and going all the way to the top of that mountain and floating down....It really does work. Good Luck!

I read somewhere once that an evil rogue once gave a Greater Lightstone to a wurm... Heh.

                  "Oh look, a glowy wurm!"
                  "Woot!"

Aye, I spent countless hours in GD hunting. I had to collect biles twice. Killed a lot both inside and outside caves. Never saw a bile drop inside the caves. Every single one I looted came from outsiders.

We just hunted for these this week. In about a 2 1/2 hour time frame we looted 5. (three for me, two for my hubby) The glow is really helpful and depending on your gear and settings can be tough to see. We were hunting south of the caves and in the tunnel along the river. We looted 2 of our 5 in the tunnel, in fact the "glowing" wurm spawned in the same place we killed the first one. (this may be coincidence of course)

                        option..

If you have a 61 necro helping you, I have a suggestion:

Go to rathe mountains at a time when not may others are on, unleash chaos and mayhem upon the giants, take the cash and buy the biles instead. ((seriously!))

I spent two days in GD hunting for those ****able biles. The most boring thing I have ever done.

They drop inside and out. Outside is fractionally less tedious.

The biles are no drop. I guess you could stand around auctioning to pay for looting rights on them... but if you're in the zone doing nothing... you might as well kill them yourself right?

That's what I thought, but I guess I could offer a bounty to loot them, maybe that would increase my chance at getting them if more people are killing them.... People still xp in GD, maybe I'll give it a try.
