Well after waiting like everyody else I logged in after the patch and made my first lemming fur bag and I was happy. So I tried to make another and at first I thought I failed so I tried agian and still nothing happend. Then I took a good look at the bag and notticed the LORE tag started swearing for a while about the plat for the thread. Then it occured to me this is probabbly a quest item so I will be looking for the npc that might give any clues to back up my theroy. I'm personally hopeing that this might lead to a larger weight reducing backpack or some other side quest. Would really like to hear everybody's thought on this.

2 x fur + gold thread + pattern
2 x fur + silver thread + pattern

I doubt it'll be for a quest. I'm going to compare it to the dropped bags (e.g. EE bag, Large Soiled Bag, Herbalist's Pack, etc). I think the only reason why Tinkerer's Bags and Haversacks are not-lore is because of how much plat it takes to make/buy one. Still upset about the lore tag now on it though... /snarl

Grrr. Was hoping there might be a bit lower triv combine for cheaper. Oh well, skillin up on bags a bother as it is. With the "lore" tag not worth it at all anyway.
I figgure they made these sucky bags lore, so that we would raise high holy hell, then they will take the lore tag off, and we'll shutup and thank them.
ok the giant 10 slot bag is good to begin with. the 25% is better too. i think the bag will be for loer level chars. personally i ahve a rallic, herbalist pack, large sewing kit, ayvadd(sp) runed jar, HM backpack, and usually a mortar or fletching kit. so thats ummm 85, 25, 0, 25, 10, 0 for WR totals if i remember right. my main is 55 so i have 200+str most times. i think the bag was made for lwoer lvl chars imho. i jsut wish the triv would be between wu and ribbons.

No, like was said earlier in the thread '10-slot holds giant sized' is less than 2plat from PoK.

Yeah, all the low level characters with 300 plat to spend on a bag.
I can see them lining up now. :-)
It's a decent bag, but not for lowbies.

str 52 here. more if i eating something with stats. lv 38 today. would have been a bit upset paying 200pp for these to begin with, but to make them lore so i can't help my other characters later is ****. just my thoughts
ps. i added the **** so the filter wouldn't have too. it would have upset the den mother.

i made one for my druid alt. not very much str so this and a ouple handmade are good. going to get a runed urn and maybe a herbalsit pack then the druid should be set for weight
Shessh they give us a new bag, more WR and bigger invin slots and for the most part all I hear is whine whine whine, shessh, be glade there is a new bag that don't take hours of camping to get 1 item, I dunno how the rare the furs are, but they can't be that rare. and yes the plat thread dose make a tad expinive to make, but hey, it's giant 10 slot, with WR, I'll be maken one soon as I get the fur to make one with.

The problem is that they're only marginally better than the deluxe toolboxes at a cost of 200+ more plat. Not knowing they were lore, I went and bought enough thread to make 6 bags (figuring I'd fail one, and I wanted to replace all of the deluxe toolboxes that my main is carrying around). Upon getting the lore message when I tried to transfer the second bag from my halfling tailor to my main, I cussed a blue streak and /auctioned it for 400pp. I got a tell that someone would give me 100pp for it.
Really, what would the disadvantages be in removing the lore tag from this? The people who are buying tink bags and making haversacks still have their market intact and they both remain just as much of a plat sink (though I think people give way too much credit to these 2 items as plat sinks, it's easier to raise the plat to buy the threads for the haversacks than it is to get the acorns and tufts). The handmade backpack market (I don't get why SOE cared enough about this market to remove the deluxe sewing kits from the game, but apparently it's important to them so I mention it here) remains intact because of the relatively high price on the platinum thread artificially inflating the price of the lemming fur bags.
What it comes down to is that the bags just aren't nice enough to be lore. Give it a better WR and I'll be happy, or remove the lore tag and I'll be happy. They had the chance to give us a nice new recipe to make a decent item at a fair price. What we got instead was a lame mini-quest where we run 1 zone away from a PoK book and hand a vendor 210pp for a bag that you can only have one of and can't sell for more than a few pp over cost.
