Elemental planes rare smithing drops locations and experienc

Ah, I've seen crystals come off the casters and the fire heads as well, so I guess they're all pretty much random in that reas. The metallics I got were off the bridge guardians.

Magmas are pretty stingy on our server. All we got that was close was 'Potion of molten lava' Was hoping that would work but of course it didn't

On another note, Playing around with PoEarth stuff now. Was happy to have collected 3 chips of granite but IT DOES NOT WORK! Cant make the 4 powders for tempers using this. I was pretty shocked. Apparently there is some other item with similiar name that is used.

Wondering if someone who has made the powdered granite chips (and thus knows exactly which pieces this is). I've seen "shiny chip of granite" and "shard of granite" popping up on vendors since the first guilds on my server killed Rallos Zek...but not in quantities sufficient to test and see if they are the right thing.

What EXACTLY are these items called?

I've made 1 livestone chain tunic and 1 livestone chain bracer.

I can confirm the item for making powdered chip of granite is called "chip of granite". Make sure you use the right container for combine. 3 chips of granite in mortar & pestle.

Actually got some air materials for smithing today in air.

Some of the avatars guards droped it. Looks like the same icon as purified mana. So far have 1 temper rar and 1 powder rare. When I get 2 more for powder will make dust and then will need one more temper rare and can actually try some air item. I hope its on par with water and not crap like earth/fire.

I've gotten enough for 9 fire temper, made 1 pair plate legs and failed 1 leather boots combine.

From xp group, I've gotten enough to make 1 livestone chain bp, 1 livestone chain bracer, 1 chain jointing left (made it by mistake), and enough liquified earth and chips of granite for 9 more tempers (but lack of earth mephit blood since we don't normally camp those).

I'd be very happy if air smithing drops is on par with Earth.

Actually the air drop rates arent that bad, but the problem is that they only drop off the elemental mobs, confused air elemental, elemental champions etc. So they are fairly far in, and honestly 1 group would be incapable of farming them.
Already failed once on air chain bracer.

Well consider yourself lucky. 2years of smithing to get to 250 and I doubt I will ever see any of the stuf from those planes.

Well, as someone who is NOT elemental planse flagged, and doesn't expect to be any time soon, I'll give hte perspective of a bazaar shopper for this stuff.

Livestone - I have purchased enough raw materials for this to make two breastplates (don't ask what I paid, it hurt). Liquefied earth was the hardest to find, and cost the most.

Inferno - Have everything for one combine, EXCEPT for the metallic substance.

Farwater - One blood in bazaar, once. Zip otherwise.

Windessence - PLENTY of blood, metal shows up occasionally. Nothing else, ever.

I honestly don't know if the bazaar availability relates to drop rates, or just ot what the "uber" guilds consider the less attractive armor. But those were my experiences, for those who may be considering buying the materials. Also, yes I do know some servers have guilds with rules against selling the stuff, but rodcet nife doesn't seem to be one. (Yay)

Actually that matches up pretty well with what and where people will exp in the elemental planes.

PoEarth- One of the 2 popular exp planes. Your exping on regular mobs having chances to drop all sorts of tradeskill components.

PoFire- Other popular exp plane but 90% of the people exping do so on the guards which only drop metal and bow staffs. Other mobs are usually avoided. IE magma's for armor/pottery hard and avoided etc.

PoWater- Only crazy people or people who want drops to make thier own items exp there. It's like fighting the bad stuff in fire to get any of the tradeskill components but underwater. No frigging way.

PoAir- Much like powater only crazy people would exp here. First island which has a regular respawn has mobs that split to multiple mobs. used to be green, now light blue. Not to mention the wandering spider adds.

For anyone actually in the elemental planes thats exactly what you'd expect.

if ur guild is doing those circles in Earth u ll get tons of granite so thats definately not the bottleneck.. but the liquid earth is the bottleneck, because the mud circle where that stuff should drop has such a bad drop rate compaired to the rock circle... its horrible. we got 0-2 liquid earths per circle but about 10 granit at least per circle.. now im stucked up with stacks of granit but almost no earth bah

Hmmm... sounds like we need some cross server trading Have 30+ liquid earths and as of last night doing the rock ring twice in two night getting 3 granites total... we hit 6 (time for another BP try)
