I started keeping detailed records of my success and failure regarding GM armors once I first heard of the success rate caps.
I am a raw blacksmithing skill 300 barbarian with SM3. This data set is all using the original trophy. Although I dont think it matters in my case which trophy I use since my unrestricted success rate is way over the cap in either case, I didnt include combines with the new trophy to keep the comparison of apples to apples. I dont have enough datum points with the new trophy for the data to have any significance yet. I also only included data for the 386 trivial combines.
n=53
Grandmaster Totals (0.67) = 36/53
Grandmaster Cuirass (0.66) = 6/9
Grandmaster Greaves (0.85) = 6/7
Grandmaster Chest Symbol (0.66) = 14/21
Grandmaster Legging Symbol (0.62) = 10/16
Obviously, the larger the sample size the more reliable the analysis, but good and bad runs of RNG results are significant too when they happen to you.Roanne LeFaye

Aye, I've been making this armor for more than a year now for folks (both pre and post server merges) and I can say my longterm average is about online with what our other threads talk about success rates, etc., although I think I'm a few percentage points higher average.
That's probably over 500-600 pieces I've attempted to make all together.

Just keep that in mind the next time you spend 15 scales making one pair of GM legsCrystilla
