All blue diamond cultural uses velium as far as I know. The skill trivial on BD Culturals is all still 335 also.

Ogre BD Cultural does use Folded Sheets and plain Sheets of Velium in making the imbued Adamantite bricks.

Also, the reason I like CC better is not onlyt do you not lose any faction, but I can sweep through the entire caverns, visit the city and break it all down to stacks in the forge, sell my gems and other drops, and get back up top for another run in time for respawn. It's constant, non-stop farming, but it nets alot of velium. Of course I can only do that when I'm the only one farming the orcs

Has anyone had luck with this/these recipes being remembered by the tradeskill interface? When I did my first velium weapon run, I didn't bother remembering or noticing the name of the recipe, thinking that it would be the usual case of "You have learned the recipe, blahblahblah". However, I am now unable to find the recipe in the interface, and I've already "learned" every weapon, so I have no idea what the name of the recipe is, to search it. Trying "reclaim", as well as "small brick of velium", does not work; those were the ony 2 I thought to try.

I think the actual names are the weapon names followed by (conversion), but searching for "velium" will find them.

I think these drops have been nerfed:-( I kill about 20-30 Tizmaks and not one velium weapon dropped:-(

A more likely explanation is this.

When the Tizmaks have velium weapons, the weapons are visible. Somebody went through the caves before you got there and "cherry picked" the mobs holding weapons leaving those without any weapons standing. Repeat that process for a few hours as they respawn and you can pretty much be sure there won't be many tizmaks with weapons left.

The solution? Clear the entire cave system (or a large portion thereof), and then go back and check the respawns. There should be a normal number of visible weapons equiped by the tizmaks then.

The same sort of thing can happen in any zone where fine steel or velium weapons drop and where they are visible on the mob models when equipped -- SolA, Permafrost, Unrest, etc..

Yes, that is a good explanation. A "cherry-picked" cave can be frustrating to start in, but after a clearing you will soon be able to start picking your own crop.

if you are after Blocks of Velium, then velium weps is a slow way to get there.

This is good news. Now if they would just fix the velium studs recipie so you'd get like 5 studs from three bits I'd be happy:-)

I agree, building blocks out of small bricks and pieces is a pain, you better go to CC for that.

What's the Velium Drop rate like in Velks? Any at all? I could snag me some XP there too - at my smith's current level.

Weapons or blocks - no matter. I love being able to XP and Farm smithing components at the same time - even if the rate of both is a bit slow.

Velks is a great placd to farm velium, especially blocks and bricks. Clear the front half of spiders and such, or go past upper dogs and clear out all statues (bah, forget the name of those mobs). Just be careful pulling back there as you can snag one horrendous train if you're not careful.

Aye! Went there last night - I need to learn the zone better. But the XP's not bad at level 50 either.

I got about 18 various blocks of velium just there at the entrance last night. Along with a bit of silk and about 80% regular AA at level 50 - that was about... 5 hours play time? I wasn't going all out - just a steady pull of the mobs around the bottom.

Luckily, I can box a cleric and a chanter - so I should be ok there - I still realize I gotta be careful, I rezzed a level 70 SK there last night - so it can certainly overwhelm you.
