202-203 14 combines
203-204 107 combines
204-205 44 combines and climbing
This is combining old world Dwarven Cultural and Acrylia to get to 203. LDoN, and Enchanted Velium Bits ever since. I cannot afford to buy LDoN tempers in the bazaar, nor can I afford to buy the velium, so rely on my own adventures and a couple friends to collect for me. It's really slow going.

I just had some luck while making armor for some guild-mates: 5 LDoN combines and 2 skill-ups.
Strength was 154 while intelligence was 75 (I'm a warrior, and a dumb one).
Usually the RNG works against me so viciously that my friends call me the Anti-Spawn.

I don't keep track of exact number (too depressing
), but for my iksar shaman (wisdom 255) the skillup rate on LDoN stuff was deplorable. I think I got one skillup on all the combines I did; if memory serves me correctly, it was 60 combines on the first round, 40 combines on the second round, and 20 combines on the third round. Not as bad as some people have reported, but still not impressive.
Thankfully, I'm at 211 now and almost to the point of not being even tempted to use any more of these for the one skillup I could get from it. :\Comment

I have had great luck with skilling up from this using gothic and sand tempers. I had a total of 49 tempers (40 gothic and 9 sand) from the ldons that I have done and i went from 130 to 143 doing chain (where it trivialed) and then all the way to 154 doing plate combos. All of this out of 49 tries. I dont look at the ldon armors as a way to hit gm smithing but as an alternate route to fine steel. Thats just my 2 cents on the issue
