my run thru LDON smithing was about 15 - 20 combines per skill point.
About 90 - 95% success rate.
Approx cost was 500pp per skill point.
That is based on average 11pp per temper component merchant farming and collecting in adventures.
The 500pp figure is based on selling back armor to the merchant and considering failures. It does not take into account the few pieces that i have been able to sell in the bazaar.
I believe the merchant was buying breastplates for 87pp and offering them for sale for 127pp.
Bazaar sales can be anywhere from 300pp to 800pp but the market is slow.

So foraging components in the dungeons poses an interesting question:
Being a 65 druid who rarely ever gets a group in the planes let alone LDoN (and therefore difficult to get into the dungeons to do any foraging), think it would be possible to just start an adventure with 2-5 other foragers, and to have all of you just sit there and forage for the full 2 hours (1.5 hours to finish adventure, half an hour to complete it past time limit)...this of course, would be provided you didn't care about your rankings...
Would be an interesting and easy way to forage smithing components without having to deal with killing mobs while doing it (I know that adventures are fun and everything, but sometimes you just want to tradeskill and not exp)...Last edited by PetrosDaroc; 10-13-2003, 03:54 AM.

If you get a group like that, you might as well try doing a slaughter mission with them - more stuff might drop and you'll get the rewards of the missions too.
Just get an iksar warrior or SK as tank, and iksar shaman as slower.

I have actually tried that, started an adven and 3 people had to leave for a guild raid. Being on an alt, I dont care what my win-loss record is, zoned into the dungeon and started to forage, eventually I got bored after 2 forages and left.
I would think that if you can get a full group of foragers, would be great, 2 adventures and you would almost have enough to get from 188-212
