  • LDoN sales

Ok, starting a thread to get the opinions of smiths on what exactly will sell.

Made a bunch of calcified chain (9 different pieces), put them on trader for 40-80pp each. Have calcified and snadblaster plate greaves and breastplates on trader as well as the calcified chain.

Sold a calcified BP (27 AC 6 AGI) for 1k overnight (crack kills, stop now!).

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict the following:

sandblasted plate will sell the best.

    The big sellers:

    legs and arms.

I saw those as the 2 hardest slots to get wis and AC above cloth on while levelling my cleric.

The BP has potential, but there are too many decent BPs with WIS on them. Helm is a definate maybe too, seem to not remember decent wis helms.

belt (chitinous from FG VT shard farming), cloak (acrylia and heiro), bracer (RMB, reverent), shoulders (ODS) are right out.

The sandblasted needs HP on it or the shaman won't touch it. Not sure rangers really want it either.

Depending on how sales go today, there's a good chance I'll be off to kill sand elves.

My initial feel is that the 2 slots for augs will make them potentially popular. Most existing items have only 1. Lets say someone buys the BP and adds a WIS aug AND a Regen aug? Not bad!! I'm a firm believer in not underpricing them until we see how the market will react. However, the market may get flooded quick depending on the server.

      Golly!

And here I was trying to be nice and sell them at a reasonable price.

My prices ranged from 200p (visor, collar) to 500p (BP and greaves) and I felt bad charging that much even.

p.s. Golly is used to replace what had been filtered.

Yeh I was trying to figure out a price looking at similar AC stuff with some stats but factoring in the 2 slots. Be interesting to see what folks say they get for the stuff. I just hate trying to make a few plat and them someone decides to sell a ton at cost recovery just to skill and then no market at all.

I always like to start at the higher end of the price range to see what I get, then lower if it doesn't move. I thought 1k for a 27AC BP with 6AGI was insane, but heck, if people buy...

That being said, I based my prices on what's currently selling now. So if a froglok scale chestplate is selling for 2k, I'm selling a sandblasted BP (more AC and WIS) for about the same, maybe more.

          Froglok Scale Chestplate
          MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM
          Slot: CHEST
          AC: 24
          CHA: +3 WIS: +5 INT: +5
          WT: 5.5 Size: MEDIUM
Class: WAR CLR PAL RNG SHD BRD ROG SHM
          Race: ALL

          Sandblasted Steel Breastplate:
          AC: 27
          WIS: +6, SvF: +6
          wt 5.5
          slot types 2/2

target market is clerics. Don't start the market low, unless you smith for charity purposes, in which case, stay off my server, I'd prefer markets not be trashed for a while

Sold gothic plate grieves overnight for 900 P. Sandblasted I put a little higher because of +wis. They are still on vendor at 1100. My skill is 207 so legs are higher than that

I plan to start my pricing at 19pp per AC on the armors, with a 25% discount for a full suit -- sets the price at about 2550pp for a full suit. I'll see how that does for a while then revise as appropriate.

Gah. At this rate, I'm going to need a third account for another trader.

Here's my experience on Mith Marr so far. The big draw to this stuff so far has been the 2 aug slots, however most people don't know about that yet.

I've found that BP's can sell from about 1200 to 1500. Legs for 1000-1200, arms, boots, helm 500-700. However, I have not figured out many specific prices as some folks are already lowballing their prices which has killed the markets for so many lines before. In some cases I started a BP at 1500 to see what the right price would be and someone immediately put the same one at 500.

IF the market isn't killed by everyone going "cost recover" or small margin for skilling, I expect that for a while the market will climb as folks get tons of point (they can spend on augs) and augs that drop. This stuff won't be for mains in most cases, but may be very popular for alts who can get highly customized armor.

                      Just my initial thoughts.

I don't really feel bad about potentially hurting the market by selling my LDoN stuff to recover costs. If I price it like you people are, I'll never recover my costs.

These recipies were added for skilling, anyways.

Besides, I'm doing them in trivial order, so I'm currently only killing the market for bracers, heh.

I don't mind too much with collars and bracers. But in markets that were not killed, Ive seen MUCH more plat made than otherwise. But it IS slower.

It's ok, karma usually comes back to haunt you at the worst times. If they were just adding recipes to skill up, why did they bother to make them actually semi-useful? We could be making 10,000 heavy iron ladles or front-driver Buick Regency doors instead.

Don't be fooled by high prices!!

Most all LDoN armor pieces can be made from 50pp (bracer) to 105pp (breastplate) with a good CHA. (No failure price and assuming you farmed your own temper component).

If you're getting 1K for an LDoN breastplate you are making a big profit!!!
