Anyone have an idea of the skillup rate? Ive collected enough for about 250 combines, but don't want to blow it all if SoE screwed something up.

On different boards, and talking to friends in game, I am seeing remarkably varied drop/forage rates reported for tradeskill components, augmentations, and everything else.

I think there is a lot of luck involved. I haven't found hardly any tradeskill components myself on Live, but my friend has collected a few stacks for me.

      It's just random.

Did not pay much attenton, but in our Guk crawl yesterday we definitely got at least 5-6 pondweed as drops.

I can see it now, groups of 6 forage bots forming, grabbing an adventure, and sitting at the zone-in for 2 hours, foraging stuff.

If these LDoN recipes get you to 215+ (I heard 188-210 stretch is the worst), this is gonna be THE way to do smithing.

Gothic steel greaves trivial at 212. Stats reported above correct.

Bearing in mind that everything is server- and economy-dependent, I saw someone auctioning off an LDoN BP (I forget which) for 500pp on Veeshan yesterday. If that is a fair price (and I have no clue if it is), that would suggest you undersold a bit.

Dunno, I'd be happy to move calcified at any price. AGI has to be the single least desirable stat, unless you have, say, and erudite or ogre that needs a couple of points to bump themselves over 75 AGI. The goblin bones drop like mad as well.

But a full suit sold at 2k (153pp each) when you have to pay 21pp for a padding and 23ish pp for a block of MQ ore (as well as up to 22pp for a mold) and the stuff seems to be old style cultural for anyone (in terms of trivials, stats blow), that's way undersold - at least in terms of return on investment (since I can't skill up on the stuff price is all I care about making it).

well the way i did was figure up my total cost then double it and i rounded up to 2k. i think i came up with liek 900p for costs so double to1.8kp and some change then bumped to 2k. i've seen peopel trying to sell the calcified bp for 2k alone and thought that was way overpriced

since i've always used the formula of take the cost then doubling it for the resale i find doing that for smithed armor doens't work very well. what would you suggest for prices on this type of armor Kyros? i found that it works for JC, pot, and bake. bakeing i can get away with 4x sometimes

Just made Calcified BP and Leggings, both not trivial at 205 skill.

edit: was drunk when I wrote this , meant not trivial at 205

Is that the ringmail or plate? I did both plate items at skill 205 or 206 and neither was trivial.

I think you mean the ringmail versions.

If a piece of armor is trivial for me, it usually means it's either Fine Steel, Ornate Chain, Banded or (now) LDoN armor. Since I can't get skillups from doing it, and it's a royal pain in the patootie to put together some combines (especially if the stuff requires HQ metal), it's just not worth my time to do it for less than double my cost.

Since these are mostly skillup items, buyers would be better off finding a smith still skilling on them and buy from him / her. They'll probably get a better deal. On the other hand, I always let friends and guildies buy at cost -- I don't mind helping buddies out. =)

I put together a spreadsheet to calculate my costs, and set it up so that I charge per AC on the armor. Particularly for things like Fine Steel that have no extra stats, I find this is a good way to price the armor.

Right now, I'm pricing my LDoN armor at 19pp per AC, which puts a full set at about 3.4K. I always offer discounts on sets or multi-item purchases, though, so I end up selling it at about 2.5K, which is in fact double my cost to make a full kit.

I'll probably adjust the price later when I figure out how well each piece / set sells.

For the person asking about skill up rate, I started a session at 168 skill (human smith) banged out 40 calcified bracer attempts, 8 deep cavern attempts and 6 sand blasted attempts.

Ended with a skill of 181, 209 int at the time.

Skill ups working fine on these >.<
