Sorry I haven't responded yet...I'll be getting that new file up soon. I originally posted as works thinking (erroneously it seems) that it came default on most computers. I've added some spells in the meantime and will post them.

Haven't checked out the java one yet though, but it sounds like it may be a far better utility than my make shift spreadsheet.

I've been enjoying this thread. I guess I'll add the necro's point of view.

The necro spell that everyone drools over is Funeral Pyre of Kelador. I've heard that it sells for 20k on most servers, but the lowest I've seen it on my server is 30k. I've managed to make this spell only once, and I was able to sell it for 45k. It uses 4 components, none of which are cheap, though the rarest by far is Words of Torment.

I've only managed to make Gangrenous Touch of Zum’uul once. I put it on my vendor for 14k and it sold very quickly. I'm wondering if I under priced it.

If it weren't for those 2 sales I'd be many thousands of plat in debt from all the spells on my vendor that haven't sold. A few of the low end spells that sell well are Sacrifice and Minion of Shadows, but the profit on those is much much lower.

I've started branching out into wis caster spells lately using the info from this thread to get me started. I've managed to sell 1 copy of acumen, but that's it so far.

Levitation: Enchanter pieces easy to get, priest pieces hard to get. I've been making the enchanter version and selling for 6k as fast as i make em.

Everlasting Breath: See above for pieces. Slow but regular seller at 4k-5k. Not quite as useful as Lev.

Acumen of Dar Khura: finally scrounged up pieces for my husband's shaman. He loves it. I see it for 8k on my server, but I just now started looking for ingredients.

Malo: Words of Retention and Yaeht's 108 stupid rare on my server and high prices when they do show up. Still commands a high price for the spell, apparently, but all the pieces we get are still going to our slow-leveling guild shamans

Torpor: Still a good seller on my server, but see above for Yaeth's 107 L and Yaeth's 118 R.

Form of Hunter: If you can find Words of Virtue for cheap, this one sells for 2k-3k. Another slow but regular.

Mask of the Hunter and Stalker: Both still good sellers on my server, if anyone could find a source for Rune of Zephyr! Dew Clover is not so rare these days, and have just started looking for yaeth's 115.

Moonfire: I thought this would be a good one, but Rune of Coruscating appears to be quite rare. Found one on a merchant somewhere which i used for a guild druid, haven't seen another yet.

Transon's Elemental Renewal: All 4 pieces are relatively common drops in the Plane of Bazaar, although they total 10k or so and the spell now sells for 10k. Was good a couple months ago when it sold for 20k.

Illusion: Vah Shir: Finally sold an extra copy for 1k. Really thought this would be a good seller but it's not. Make Potions instead, if you can!

There's a smattering of mage spells I'm hoping to make if I can manage to get my mage cleared of the smithing stuff long enough to get a book in Gunthak. I'll post again with those results.

Also, although it's not a research thing, don't forget about the trade-in spells in Firiona Vie. We still hunt Kunark dungeons quite often so we still see the common drops. It's a crap shoot, some are very good sellers, others are duds. It's still worth it to me: when my hands are about to fall off from all the clicking in tradeskills, I make a run to FV instead.

I’ve been trying to find 50 – 60 spells for my shaman and many of them are so outrageously priced that I would never be able to afford them. So I’ve started gathering research components and our guild necromancer has been doing the combines.

As already mentioned; Acumen of Dar Khura, Torpor and Malo are high priced spells, at least on Seventh Hammer. I’ve searched the bazaar at least twice a day for the last couple of months and the cheapest I’ve seen Acumen is 8k, Torpor is 20k and Malo is 15k. Another high priced shaman spell on Seventh Hammer is Pox Of Bertoxxulous, which I’ve yet to see below 35k.

Research has proven very helpful in filling my spell book. I just got Torpor for 4k. I have the components ready to combine for Acumen for 300pp, and Pox for 1700pp. If those are successful I’ll have saved a ton of money. And I’m just one component away from an attempt at Malo. I’m so grateful for the addition of research component for wisdom casters. It’s the only way I will ever see many of my class defining spells.

Prices are bound to go down since many components are dropping in LDoN (although not all of the rare components drop there.)

I bought a copy of Sunstrike for 300pp in the bazaar the other night!

Resold it for 3000pp.

anyone have a good list

Does anyone have a list of all the worthwhile LOY research components to keep an eye out for on merchants? I know the wizard runes I need have been much more common since LDON came out but I don't know the other int casters or priest components that are worth keeping. If no one has a list I will try to compile one from the above spells that seem to be the good sellers. Let me know. Thanks for the help. Great thread.

Thanks for this post, it's been very helpful. I've branched out from smithing as a main money maker and am dabbling in other tradeskills. Haven't made/sold much but over the last month but didn't see Antidote in the bazaar but was successful with a combine of it this morning so I'll see how much it finally goes for.

edit: I would be surprised to see this sell at all. According to a reply on an eqcleric's board, this spell is vendor bought (not quested) in FV and OT. DOH!
