Spell Caster's Essence Question

Having made the Refined and Intricate versions and some of their resulting clicky scrolls, I went on to make the Focus Mass Spellcaster's Empowering Essence Spell to try some clicky combines with them.

Unfortunately this was just before servers were coming down before 5 (pacific) this evening. So, I was rushing a bit and may have borked something in my haste. Please forgive me if this is the case.

But...

I tried:

A Piece of Parchment
Spellcaster's Empowering Essence
Binding Powder
Binding Solution

in Spell Research Kit
and got DNC, was expecting Enchanted Spell Parchment

For the intricate and refined, using matching termed components worked fine. Did I miss something here?

Which of the "Mass" essence spells did you cast to create your essences? Once made the only difference between, for example, the Focus Ornate Spellcaster's Empowering Essence and the Mass Spellcaster's Ornate Empowering Essence spells (not positive the names are word for word correct) is that the base spell creates one ball essence and the Mass spell creates 20 ball essences iirc.

No additional identifier in front of it.

This is the "no adjective" tier.

The spell I used is the single version:
Focus Spellcaster's Empowering Essence (NEC/55 WIZ/55 MAG/55 ENC/50)

At least this narrows it down to the Essence and not the spell having a problem.

Looking at my data there doesnt seem to be a recipie for "Enchanted Spell Parchment", it jumps from "Simple" to "Refined".

I saw somewhere here or at eqplayers that someone was having trouble doing combines for fletching in the pok. So, I tried doing the "enchanted parchment" combine in the baz, no luck.

Too bad Ngreth is on vacation because it appears this recipe is broken, unless the zone may have an influence on combines (don't know much about programming so I don't even know if it's possible or not).

If someone has made this item, can you post when, where and what you used. As it is, someone, like me, who is trying to skill up the new way, needs this recipe or they have to jump to intricate.

Jumping to intricate is not a viable solution for me now because my server is selling refined and intricate binding for 1500pp . I'd farm them myself but I haven't figured out where they drop yet. The plain binding powder and ornate are selling for 15-50pp so it is a cheaper way. So, doing the non-adjective combines and then skipping to ornate is much, much cheaper for me atm unless 100 over your base skill is too high to get a skillup.

Don't think this is a PoK problem. It does suggest recipes missing for the "no adjective" tier.

I've tried this in quite a few different zones, from old world up to the new SoF zones, and it wouldn't combine anywhere.

So that means there is a problem with the code for the recipe. Bummer.

Eh, guess I'll have to work around it until he gets back. I've been vendor diving the refined stuff (until I find out where it drops) as a work around and it hasn't been all that bad, really. Thanks for the info. Perhaps a post on EQPlayers if you haven't already?

I've made some Ornate spell scrolls of flame strike.Useing the mass focus ornate spellcaster's essense spell.Did combine in CR.Haven't been able to make the next higher focus mass spellcaster's essense spell.

I had the DNC with this as well I was In Cresent Reach first try and Guild hall second try and just for good measure Loping plains I tried once again with a DNC. I posted about this also IN the SoF Data.

For some reason that recipe was disabled. I have re-enabled it. It will NOT make the Wednesday patch. (I expect)

Thanks for the update Ngreth! I was worried about whether the issue was figured out and whether it would be changed tomorrow. I'll try the combine tomorrow after the patch just in case, for some reason, it works now. Heh, I can never be too sure
