Not an inconsistency ... your using the wrong hide. Lvl 43 spells use Smooth Supple Runic Hide. (Pristine is 44)

Thundaka seems like it should take one Ink of Pain and a Drying Powder, rather than 2 Ink of Pain... granted the 2 Inks is easier than farming a highland sludge, but seems to follow the pattern better.

Icebane seems to be a straightforward recipe, just using Ink of Pain.
Firebane, however, takes Ink of Ro along with Ink of Pain.
Lightningbane, I haven't figured out yet, doesn't work with just Pain, or Druzzil/Pain, or Druzzil, or Marr/Pain, or Pain/Pain.

You are doing fine Ngreth, I am just glad you communicate with us players like you do here and are responsive to our moans and groans and pleas. I dont know if other developers have such a place or even if they would like such a place. I do hope we don't ever get to be a pain in the tukas for ya pal.

What makes a man a man? A friend of mine once wondered. Is it his origins? The way he comes to life? I don't think so. It's the choices he makes. Not how he starts things, but how he decides to end them.John Myer~Hellboy 2004

Apparently, Highland Drying Powder is replaced by a 2nd Ink of XXX when there is a clash with another spell from the same lvl. This holds true with Bulwark of Alendar as well.

The biggest glaring "inconsistencies" I see:

Bulwark of Alendar (63) ----- using Ink of Pain x 2 (to avoid clash).
1.) This recipe should have had an additional reagent found only in Lost Dungeons, rather than another ink. There is no LDoN equivalent to Highland Sludge Drying Powder. (But in the case of this particular spell, this is a moot point; see no. 2.) A simple fix for this would have been to introduce recipes using the temper components that are dropped/foraged in the dungeons (pondweed, ice lichen, goblin bones, gargoyle granite, & sand verbena), or to pick up some of the pointless sellable drops that litter Norrath these days. It would've been interesting had such duplicate-recipe spells required an item from their original theme of origin....

2.) Alendar's, Mana/Magi Ward, Calrena, Discombobulations, and Exorcisms (or is it Cleansings?) should require additional components; peridots, jaspers, scrying stones, etc.

3.) Spell: Summon Steel Bracelet should not be researchable.

Is it an inconsistency that the recipe for Invigorating Thickener yields only 30 when all the others I've tried yield 40?

Ngreth stated a while ago that that was due to cost "leveling" - that particular one is intended to only make 30.

yeah. originally we set it so that the herbs and such mixed in made it all go to 40 and stay the appropriate price. Then when I re-did alchemy that herb changed price, so I had to change the yield :/
