  • Inconsistency List

Ummm .. should we open this can of worms? And group all the inconsistent recipes together in one thread so that our House Ogre can gather all the info at one place?

To make it easier, I think we should just limit this to inconsistencies within the TSS recipes (and not comparing them to DoD recipes). Also, this is only for inconsistencies, and not for arguing on how to translate a spell.

First one I can think of:

Talisman of Perseverance (69 Shaman) should be using Assuaging Thickener instead of Soothing Thickener.

Blessing of Oak (69 Druid) is already using Assuaging Thickener.

Vindictive Spirit uses Ink Additive of the Nameless. Its a -100 magic resistance check... it should use Luclin's Ink Additive.

      - Edit -

Vindicitive Spirit is also one of the spells involved in the Mitigate Melee/Spell Damage inconsistencies.

This spell will eventually need to be in line with a finalized Mitigate Melee/Spell Damage rule.

i.e. Is it Ink of Pain or Ink of Tribunal?

Pact of Decay (69 SK) and Dark Possession (70 Necro) should use the same Thickener.

So have to decide between Invigorating Thickener and Ameliorating Thickener.

Reference - other spells in both lines:

Pact of Hate (64 SK) - uses Ameliorating Thickener
Seduction of Saryrn (64 Necro) - uses Ameliorating Thickener

Dark Temptation (32 SK) should use Ink of Zek instead of Ink of the Tribunal.

Recipe of the other spell in the line Call of Darkness (54 SK) is not in the database yet. That will need to be consistent with Dark Temptation.

            Questions regarding the Lifetap lines:

Touch of Inruku (67 SK) - is it using Consuming Thickener? (recipe not in database yet)

Touch of Volatis (62 SK) - should it be changed to Consuming Thickener?

Ive been compiling a list myself, but generally limiting it to Inconsistencies between spell lines.

I'm hoping to have the post up by the end of the week.

Summon: Orb of Exploration (LDoN 42 mage) is using Ink of the Eagle. Does this need to be changed to Ink of the Nameless?

                  Mitigating Spell Damage lines:

                  Wizard Ward line:
Magi Ward (54) ----- using Ink of Pain
Mana Ward (63) ----- using Ink of Pain
Ether Ward (69) ----- using Ink of Tribunal

                  Wizard Calrena line:
Ward of Calrena (49) ----- using Ink of Pain
Guard of Calrena (57) ----- (not in database)
Protection of Calrena (64) ----- using Ink of Pain
Bulwark of Calrena (70) ----- using Ink of Tribunal

                  Enchanter Alendar line:
Ward of Alendar (29) ----- using Ink of Pain
Guard of Alendar (44) ----- using Ink of Pain
Protection Of Alendar (55) ----- (not in database)
Bulwark of Alendar (63) ----- using Ink of Pain x 2 (to avoid clash)
Wall of Alendar (68) ----- (not in database)
Circle of Alendar (70) ----- (not in database)

From the looks of it, LDoN recipes are using Ink of Pain while OoW recipes are using Ink of Tribunal. This need to be unified.

                    Mitigating Melee Damage spells:

Ward of Vie (20 Cleric) - uses Ink of Pain
Guard of Vie (40 Cleric) - uses Ink of Pain
Protection of Vie (54 Cleric) - uses Ink of Pain
Bulwark of Vie (62 Cleric) - uses Ink of Pain
Panoply of Vie (67 Cleric) - not in Database
Vindictive Spirit (69 Shaman) - uses Ink of Tribunal
Verse of Vesagran (69 Bard) - not in Database

Again, it looks like LDoN recipes are using Ink of Pain while OoW recipes are possibly using Ink of Tribunal.

As a reference, here are spells that also deal with reducing damage. These all use Ink of Pain.

                    Absorb Damage:
                    Ether Skin (68 Wizard)
                    Dull Pain (69 Necro)

                    Block Melee/Spell:
Ward of Calliav (46 Mag, 49 Nec, 49 Bst)
Guard of Calliav (58 Mag, Nec, Bst)
Protection of Calliav (64 Mag, Nec, Bst)
Bulwark of Calliav (69 Mag, Nec)
                    Feral Guard (69 Bst)

Cantata of Life (67 Bard) and Chorus of Life (69 Bard) should also be using Assuaging Thickener but these recipes are not discovered yet.

Also, the PoP versions of the spells that are now correctly using Assuaging Thickener are:

Blessing of Replenishment (63 Dru, Sha) - using Soothing Thickener now
Spiritual Dominion (64 Bst) - using Mitigating Thickener now
Wind of Marr (62 Bard) - using Mitigating Thickener now
Chorus of Marr (64 Bard) - using Mitigating Thickener now

As these PoP spells are technically using the wrong Thickener, I think there is enough reason to change them to Assuaging Thickener as well.

Dear Ngreth, the intention of this thread is *not* to say "See, there are so many inconsistencies!" It is simply my hope that by grouping everything together, it'll be easier for you to look it up .

I tried to make a Chorus of Life but failed.

I don't remember which thickener it was though sorry.

yup. I consider it a bug, and something to be fixed. Not insulted. (I admit to letting bugs by... I want to fix them though!)
