You do not need to be in an uber guild to get 69 and 70 runes. They drop in several places where at least on my server, it is not difficult to get a pickup group (MPG 6way, RSS stairs and statue camps).

I acquired all of my 69-70 runes in those 3 places. I am not even IN a guild.

In regards to the difficulty of content in its proper time, level 70 runes are about as hard to obtain as level 60 Kunark spells (dropped sebilis 6r and Juggs pretty regularly... pickup groups were reasonably common there) or level 65 PoP spells (GRW's dropped occasionally off BoT wing bosses and some of the nameds in Tactics... both available for pickup groups).

So yes it is smart enough to tell if you already have the spell. They should give it to you if you delete it from the book and do not have the spell scroll on you. If you have the spell scroll on you it will not give you the scroll.

And yes, that does mean that people who want to "farm" will be able to farm, as long as they do not learn the spell.

        You get the rune back.

I missed the last 9 or so expansions, I've only been back since April. (But have managed to get my research from 0 to 274 since then!)

So my question is this - what spells are OoW spells? Which ones will we be able to research?

Most spells 66-70 are Omens of War spells. Some spells in that level range won't be researchable, for whichever of several reasons applies : from an Ancient Muramite Rune, or from the DoN, DoD, or PoR expansions.

At least, thats my expectation, based on the way they made GoD and PoP spells researchable.

              OoW spells

I would assume all of these except melee tomes and ancients.

With the Lost Dungeon spells, will this include all those versions of chest related spells (Reebo's and Wuggan's) and if so, will the required skill levels be staggered similar to how they are potentially learned? That is, perhaps a skill level of 150 could create the level 14 spells, skill level of 175 could create the level 24 spells, etc. Or work the skill levels equivalent to the early days of pages, runes, or words combinations and the represented spell level?

While these spells are pretty much pointless unless one runs lost dungeon adventures, I still like to have a full spell book too.

                  Thanks in advance.

they are the level I found on the scroll.

There is a range of tradeskill difficulties as well.

The chest spells are also used in one of the group level MPG trials. They may be used in other places too... I dunno.

                        For Liwsa:
If you've already completed a level of spells, the NPC returns the rune with the 'I have no use for this' comment.
At least, this holds true for a Mage L70 turning in a Shadospine Rune, and getting the text, and checking the spell list and saying 'Oh... 68 is done'.

It maybe too early for this question ..but what components will be required to do the 66 to 70 oow spell combines? I am asuming that the runic parchments wont work...

no one in Beta can answer that question, anyone not in beta is only speculating.

It "seems" early only because it's going in at the same time as the LDoN stuff.

Also, probably because there are still people in my guild that need 70s and we usually go raid mobs each week that drop them

<Ngreth> You will be able to get any spell that you can buy in the original EQ, Plane of Knowledge, and Serpent Spine itself. Additionally you will be able to get any spell that you can make using spell research. The Serpent's Spine will add LDoN and OoW spells to spell research.
Hmm.... am I misreading this, or maybe im taking the quote out of context? But are all old Researchable spells becoming Vendor buyable?
