I've tried farming them specifically, and there simply is no way to do it effectively. There are two ways to get parchments as I see it, buy them in bazaar at prices that are just stupid, and get them on demiplane clears. Very few people have a desire to got to DSK, and if they do, it's the AC aug camp above Vule. Even that is rare.

Crystallized sulfur (and finding the time to do combines) is mostly what holds me back right now. Saltpeter isn't as bad since PoI is a good farming zone for it and I still get xp there for now. It's a lot harder to find a place that produces a good volume of sulfur for your time spent, besides vender mining that is.

Recent experience has taught me that once you get going with research, it funds itself. Sure, slow going and kinda tedious, but I've even turned a profit in addition to some nice skill gains since 243.

Generally speaking, I sell most god spells in the 10k area. My strike price at buying parchments is 3700pp. With AT3 done, I still have managed to make 80k as well as plenty of skill gains and some decent turn around speed on spells. Granted, they don't fly off the shelves, but they do sell consistently... and I've been finding spells that may look like junk, people still buy. *shrugs*

Only bottleneck I've faced lately... having to do subcombines :P

I'm trying to work upwards from 243, and it's keeeeeeling me, lol.

Nothing beneficial added to the conversation, just a /twitch, a wry smile, and a good natured shake of the first in the direction of the sky.

This might not be true on all servers, but /buyer mode has helped me get a lot of parchments much cheaper than how I conventionally get them.

Half of the time I am compaining about competing on /buyer prices with people who are only reselling them the next day, but it's still better than paying the prices they go for in bazaar. Well priced parchments in bazaar don't last very long, that's for sure.

I found the holgresh cave to be a good place to farm crystallized sulfer. (while I was farming furs I just saved all my sulfer.)

Additional note that I have learned... Dreadspire Keep is by far the best place to exp group farm parchments. Getting into DSK is actually harder than killing the mobs inside, they are roughly RoI or a touch less difficult.

Within 35 minutes that we explored it the first time we were there, we had 4 parchments drop in 11 kills. Wether I've had the time to go back and make sure that this is a typical drop rate or not... I can't say that I have had that time.

However, from what I have seen, hunting at the zone in was rather good for the parchment rate. Better drop rate than I have seen in any zone/instance in DoD to date.

Research is tough, going to remain tough till everyone is done with it. But to be honest, I still stand behind the fact that I find it to be one of the most well balanced tradeskills to date.

Well, spent a couple days over the weekend farming exp and "Formal Dinner Invitations" for guildies at the ZI area and I think I ended the weekend with roughly 60 parchments. Slightly skewed towards the lower end ones such as Used but still an amazing haul for a few hours time.

I love 69.1 farmers. Between the 4k price hit Smudged Runic Parchments took, I have picked up almost 75 Runics alone. I've got almsot 150 varying parchments banked, plus more coming to me when I log in later. TSS has been a huge boon so far to my researching and LOL I keep it keeps going for a couple more weeks. I might break 300.

I'd have to agree, especially because grimy's are showing up more. Sure they don't sell as well as smudged do, but when you can get them for cheaper its a lot better if what you want are skillups.
