Hi all,
I'm not an int caster by heart, so I'm looking for opinions from more knowledgable folks than I. In bringing up my little necro, mage and wizard (who aren't so little anymore as they are in their 50s), I've noticed that acquiring their spells has become increasingly difficult. Not many are vendor sold and some never seem to come up for sale in the Bazaar. In researching where spells drop or where the components for spells drop, it gets even more discouraging as the spells seem to be rare drops or a specific component is either very rare or rare AND used in a "more important or profitable" spell.
I know the DoDh research revamp has really added a nice way to increase the research skill (which wasn't really needed so much before as you could train). And you now don't have to rely on PoP or GoD raids/groups to get spells for 61-65. But it seems that the 40-60 region has gotten ignored completely and with Velious and particularly Luclin being less and less populated, this will only continue to get worse. I worry that the powers that be will say that research has been revamped and is now working, when in fact there is a huge hole in int caster progression. And let's face it, int casters without their new spells basically just make good scratching posts for mobs.
Are others who are bringing up int caster alts (or mains!) seeing the same thing?
