The stone snakes have not been kind to me. In any case sporali webbing is on par with the rarity of the sporali skin. You should be able to do it pretty easily. Think it took maybe 3-4 hours?(but I was also killing stone snakes and mindspore thralls at the time). Easiest to kill are sowers, defenders, sporeweavers. Replenishers are druids(I think) and Harvesters are wizzies. And NEVER EVER EVER try and kill the Sporali Rejuvenators. Stupid thing insta casts ch when it hits 50 percent.

For me it's still

Witheran Pearl - 4 to go
Stone Snake Shedding - 4 to go
Sand Snake Shedding - 5 to go
Green Snake Shedding - 5 to go

Be a while till I get the book at this rate. Incidentally in all the time I've spent in Corathus, I've managed to see two Cloaks off Slink, the rare mask off Slither, two Blade Once Bittens, two Burrownator Belts, one gnome shield, and a host of lesser drops. Probably seen most of the named by now. Those stone snake sheddings seem ungodly rare to me. Hopefully during the weekend I'll explore an instance in Corathus Creep and see if drop rate is slightly better there(dunno what's in em yet though).

With all the information here, I've done well on these books. But the one drop that I haven't been able to locate so far is the splorgath flotation sack for the EEE book. Killed a couple dozen splorgaths in Undershore and none have dropped. Am I unlucky, or is there another area I should be farming?

Ok, answering my own question several days later...

Yes, the splorgaths in undershore drop the sacks. Looks like I had a run of bad luck, and they do seem to be the rarest of the drops for the EEE quest. On my 6th clearing of splorgaths in undershore I finally got one. Woot! Four more to go.

I have got witheran pearls in both Undershore and Stoneroot. Posted /locs for the stonesnake dropping Silverfins over in General forum.
My playing hours make it tricky to get a group for doing missions in which drachnid items etc drop- any tips for soloing the Ragepaw, Shadowmane and Drachnid collect quests for a 70 mage with very average gear? Looking at each of the non-instanced camps in Stoneroot and Undershore, the mobs seem quite close together.

I was able to duo the shadowmane with a beastlord, but I am a chanter so could split the shadowmane and the beastlord was anguish geared. I also kill them using a casual tank/cleric combine just took a bit to kill with our lack of DPS. They hit in the 600-700 range and I think they triple hit. There are two roamers that can be single pulled over to the skull box area and all the white con's East along the wall can be single pulled. You need to know that if you tag them from the wrong place over the water they warp to you and do one round of damage and then warp again sometimes back to the skull area so pulling them can be annoying if you cant find a good spot to tag from, but they all came single.

Are all 4 additional books required?

Are all 4 of the books you get from Bellfast required to do the combines to complete these type 12 augs? I saw a combine where Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles was listed in a sub-combine but I didn't see a place where the others are needed. Am I missing the combines where these are needed or can I do only the one needed and still complete the all the combines for the augs? Thanks.

no you only need 2 of the 5 books, and not even that. the container that needs the Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles is not consumed so once you make it you have it unless you sell it. the other one (the acualy book from parts for belfast) is usefull only to spell resh. as it is needed to "finetune" the previously mentioned container.

Been trying to start this quest for a few days now. I get the quest and buy the reseach kit, but it wont update.

I did NOT have the research kit on me the first time I tried this. Have tried zoning, camping, rehailing..talking to the other merchants, etc.

It just refuses to update that i have bought a research kit.

Any thoughts?

Have 216 research skill, not sure if that is a problem or not.

make Scrindite's book tradeable i jsut got up to the portion of the aug making where the pattern is made and oh so rudly discovered that you need the book for the combine. small problem i am a melee and the caster doign the combine has not done the quest, complete and very bitter timesink!! this is the most annoying merry go round quest and even moreso since the **** final combine eats the container.

Necrotic Shilskin Tentacle Clusters

Having a hard time finding these. I noticed someone had posted about getting them from the mindspore thralls in Corathus Creep, but having killed well over 100 of these mobs and I have yet to see even one. Do they still drop here( and I am suffering a bad RNG run), and where else can these be found? Thanks.

casters can gimp through this as we only need to make the pages not acualy loot the tattered mechanoscraps.

yes they drop in CC off the mindspore dudes. they drop off vitualy ANY shiliskin type mob though kinda rarely.

ok I started this quest and standing over the research guy and bringing up his trade window updated the mission.

HOWEVER - half of his inventory (and the same for the fletching guy) - the "buy" button is grayed out on when I click on those items - including the spell research kit and several other odd items but I can buy SOME of his inventory...WTF is going on and how do I fix it.

I'm now up to gathering the mechano instructions (I have 7) but I can't buy the dern research kit! any suggestions?
