So, here I am, 6 skills 250, working on the last one. And I wistfully follow the threads on Aid Grimel knowing that it would be a very long time before could ever start it - you see its the flags that hold me back.
I had heaps and heaps of fun working on PoTC when it was new. I did most of the parts myself, even though they were tradable and some of my skills were weak. It was tremendously fun and rewarding. But that's just it, the parts are all tradeable. And everyone buys the parts in the bazaar and has this earring now. It somewhat diminishes it.
I finished my shawl quite a while ago. I love it, yay!
One post in the Aid Grimel thread has me curious, are parts of this MQable? Ugh if so. But that's beside the point.
And so, with 1750 just around the corner, I find myself wishing for a quest that is specifically targetted at those who tradeskill, and not at ONLY uberguilders who tradeskill. Something like, requires all 7 skills (maybe 8, toss in fishing). Must be at 250 (modified or unmodified) to attempt. No resulting parts are droppable. And DOESN'T require you to be in the server's top 3 guilds to even begin. Just a tradeskillers quest.
I am in a family type guild, average level 62. We do raid regularly but only a couple days a week, can do some good stuff, don't get me wrong. But most the folks in my guild are all adults with jobs and kids and other outside responsibilities. We don't all live and breath EQ every moment of the day. We will eventually get some of these flags. But probably not all.
But I think a quest for the rest of the 1750ers, those who can't or don't want to join a hard core raiding guild is really lacking here. There should be something for those who love tradeskills, and have sought that form of enjoyment out of the game, who are perhaps more casual players in the raiding front. Or who maybe prefer a good group in a dungeon with 5 friends over a raid of 60+ hardcore people.
