Froglok shaman shield quest with tailoring component

Haven't managed to find all the components for this yet so not sure of final results.

Shaman Frogloks (maybe other Shamans too) can hail Yun Trainer Kintok in Innothule Swamp and he tells you that he will make a shield if you bring him:
Stretched Kobold Leather
Bundle of Faydark Twigs
Bundle of Thicket Twigs
and Leathery Twine


2 Kobold Hides + Skinning Knife = Stretched Kobold Leather
tailoring combine trivial at 152
Magic Wt 1.0 small none none

2 Spider Silk + MQ bear hide + Skinning Knife = Leathery Twine

both combines eat the skinning knife I forgot already but I don't think either result was stackable.

When you ask him about the twigs, he gives you a twig bundler (forgot to record details) which combines 4 Misty Thicket Twigs and 4 Faydark Twigs (I think those are proper names). Some one gave me a misty twig and said it was a ground spawn (looks like a bag when I dropped it) - couldn't find anymore but did find two misty acorn groundspawns.

If I can ever find the enough groundspawns I will post the details of the shield he assembles from all the ingredients.

Someone picked up the Faydark Twig under Kelethin - confirmed it was a ground spawn. I still can't find any twigs in either location.

Are the resulting items NO DROP, like so many other frog newbie quest items?

Or can I give the stretched leather and twine to my little Frog?

The hide and twine are not LORE and not NO DROP. I made them with my druid (I have not managed to do more than brew with the froggy so far). The one misty twig I have so far is just MAGIC too, but I am really at a loss on finding them and geting the faydark twig seems like it will be worse unless it is a static spawn (if it is a spawn). I'll record locs if I ever find them.

I also think the other frog classes may get their own quests of this type - I know Kintok won't talk to my friends pally frog or to my halfling druid.

There is a shaman trainer and a cleric trainer in Innothule clearly marked on the map. There is a wizard trainer on top of one of the giant stone hands, and an armored froglok (not sure if he's a paladin or warrior - didn't think to right click to check what class he trains) on top of the other giant stone hand. That would be four of the five classes, so I'm not sure if paladins and warriors share the same NPC, or if there's a fifth trainer hidden away somewhere.

There is a wandering Dar forager and Shin knight in Innothule that I think may give the corresponding warrior and pally quests. I haven't been able to convince other froggy friends to check yet even offering to track for them.

I didn't go to safehouse but I worked this quest out with a friend today, and I posted the information about it in the sticky for this forum. The combines might be no fail because everything worked with no skill, except for the skinning knives. The spawn time on the twigs is pretty much exactly 26 minutes for both the Faydark and the Thicket. There are not that many spots, so once you find one, you just kinda watch it. It's boring, but at least you'll get the twigs.

All the stuff for this first quest is also tradeable (so if a friend finds a twig they can give it to you), but for the upgrade it's at least partly, if not all, no drop.

Kevan McPherson in Halas will give you the mold for a fire goblin skin. The skin is no drop but the mold is not.

Prismatic Ore supposedly drops from goblin sage in Permafrost but not yet for me - he spawns in the area labelled 3 at EQAtlas.

The items get turned into Kintok instead of smithing the shield, but they have tradeskill components like the newbie quests - mold and ore.

I can summarize it tonight when I get home from work (and hopefully get that pesky prismatic ore) - the journal log captured all the text needed. I just need to find it in all the other stuff.

I really hope someone will look if the other trainers in the swamp have similar quests for the other froggy classes.

I haven't ever hailed the Shin Knight, but I think he's merely meant to be the annoying roaming guard that KSes you every time you're winning the fight, and is nowhere to be seen when things are going bad for you. Every newbie zone has one.

And I suspect the Dar Forager might be tied to the one in Gukta. Apparently SOE has figured out a way to allow mobs to cross zone lines, and the Forager periodically turns up in Gukta with a limited number of forages supplies for sale. I'm guessing that these two might be the same mob.

A more likely candidate for the Shin and Dar quests is the armored froglok atop one of the hands in the swamp (something the Fist). I went by there with my Dar the other day, and right clicked on him, and didn't get a "You are not a [class X]" message, so I suspect he might be for both warriors and paladins.
I also overheard him telling another player that they needed to have all five of their weapons skills raised to 75.

What chunk of prismatic metal?

Yun Trainer Kintok says 'This particular type of metal is very difficult to come by, and has only ever been reported to me as being found in the caverns of Permafrost. Last I heard, some sort of sage or something had been hoarding it for some sort of an experiment that he was working on. If you can find the sage, you'll find the metal.'
