It depends at what step you make a mistake. In the later stages, yes you can loose boxes.

Where did you get all three boxes? (I need to know all three)
How many boxes are in your inventory.
How many are gem covered, and how many are uncovered.
Which of the uncovering combines have you done
      Where are you doing it
What time is it when you are doing it
Well i had done the whole thing 1 time, but didnt do the "repair the book in a book binding" step before..

So I gathered all 3 boxes again, HoS birds, LP orcs (much hate), and 1 from the brownies in Dragonscale.

I had all 3 in the inventory, when i did the combines. I combined 1x celestial essence + gem covered box in a planar fletching kit at midnight, tried 1am and 1 hour before midnight. (tried it 8 times now).
All combines where very close or even on top of the altar. (tried to do it further away and got the "your not close enough to the altar" text.

I tried to do the combine exactly like i did when it actually worked. but since I forgot 1 step I had to redo them...

      Hope that answers your questions.

Girdle of Efficiency has a slot 8 aug, but it comes from a GROUP event, so it is by definition a group item, not a 'raid' item. This item gives the strongest argument for upgrading the click on the caster version of this item. There is really no reason the click on the jewelry should not be better than or at a minimum equivalent to this belt.

I don't know about that, those items were tuned to come from events requiring high end (at the time) raid gear to beat which is why I included that small disclaimer on it. Remember, they didn't inflate weapons due to despair but weapons have naturally progressed to the point in TBS where they equaled it and now they surpass it. Sash of the Slavers is a much better argument to make because it drops from a Steam Factory named. Given the itemization pattern in SoF it's reasonable to assume another named in there has a similar item with a type 3 aug slot as well and that it hasn't been found yet. Additionally Crystal-Adorned Cloak and it's type 3 copy which are detrimental caster archetype gear having a stronger clicky effect (the mana regen is all that really matters, HP isn't worth much) also being non raider SoF available clickies provide for strong reasons to increase the power of the TS quest click since it's by far the most difficult/time consuming item to get of the bunch.

          • I still think that a lower level mana regen clicky that stacks with existing content would be attractive to raiders and groupers alike and would not be unbalancing. Something like a 3-4 mana regen that stacks on top of existing clickies but takes up a buff slot. Lunar Whispers 2...

My petition was finally answered today and I got the Mold back (Scrap oil).

Mold did not get used up in making the setting and I completed the task.

                • .

Step 5 makes me very sad

I have done it now 3 times ... I am so sick of Orcs.

Anyways 1st time I did it, I opened box 1 at 6am per previous posts... BAM I get 325k DD. 2d time I said hmmm guess the post about 6 AM was mistanken so moved on to box #2 ... attacked by shadows .. again this was at 6 AM. 3rd time I was ok 3rd time is the charm ... so at 6 am I open box #3 and BAM 325kDD.

What I see differend is on attempt #2 I was attacked instead of getting blasted by the DD.

All I can think of that I may have done wrong is possibly mistarget box #1 on the 1st attempt ... on attempt #2 the time bell may have ticked to 7 AM.

Anyways ... Cry imma into hour 6 farming orcs ... the drop rate on orcs **smurfs** to high heaven. On a positive note I should make ally to FB with doing the kill orcs task

I am determined to finish this quest, not for the reward but just to have done the quest. As other posts have noted the end reward is reather useless in consideration of the stuff that can be grouped other places. It's been said not to compare this with raid gear - my question is why not? It's not just a drop that any raid force can just farm, this quest takes more work then a simple raid ... hours of trade skilling, hours of farming materials and a lot of frustraion. Back at pop, Aid Gramel(sp) was on par with raid gear with no raid drops (peeps could 85 in to get drops without raid flags) ... in comparison I see no reason why this final reward can't be boosted much higher ... as it is I will never use it like I did my 8th shawl and my Aid earring.

I seem to go over this over and over again.

It does not matter how long something takes. It does not matter what was done before.

If an actual raid is not included in some way in the path to making an item, I am not allowed give a raid level reward. Your Aid Gremel comment does not work. I could do the same thing, but then you have to get a raid started and completed by SOMEONE in order to get the part. Even if you did not make the effort of a raid directly yourself, the effort of a raid was made in order to get the part.

Whether you or I agree with this or not, that is the rule I am required to uphold.

                      • Completely understand Ngreth. I guess the only thing we can ask for is to have a stackable clicky that can complement both raiders or groupers items without being overpowered.

                        • Or Ngreth could add a final raid-level 8th step to the end of the quest to boost it to raid-quality gear. Maybe something like the 10th Coldain ring quest used to be, big reward for the owner plus some smaller rewards for those who helped out. Eron wants vengeance against Meldrath, why not let the player make sure he gets it?

                          • And I will be hated for that, and accused of leaving out everyone else because I have gone an made a raid quest and I hate anyone who does not raid.

This is unfortunately **NOT** something I can win.

There is absolutely 100% NOTHING I can do that will satisfy everyone.

I really want to make this something everyone can do and not something restricted to raiders, or people with raiding friends that can gimp them in.

Raiders will just have to go in with the knowledge that it is a group reward and not a raid reward.

                            • Understood -- last thing we want to do as a group is whine. If there is some way to sidstep the raider/grouper distinction and give a clicky for example that benefits both but really not very much, it may be the simplest solution. Trading against myself here but how about 2-3 mana regen stackable clicky like Lunar Whispers used to be. That was how the phylactery worked.

                                Ngreth,

Let me just say I've not confirmed this yet but I was told by a guildy that she was able to get all quests from Eron at once. She said all she had to do was /say smithing / fletching / baking / etc. I'm quite sure she had all of them because she was bouncing around group ideas (we could go here, or here, or here...) and they all coresponded to various steps in each. She settled on going to do the fishing / baking one by herself. She figured she would have to do the final turn-ins in order but she was going to work the rest out of order.

I was under the impression that this was a progression type quest. Did something break or was this intended?
