  • DoDH tradeskill quests and tasks

Does anyone know of a good guide (or at least a checklist) of the various DoDH tasks and quests you have to do to make the new augments? I know the series starts with Belfast, but I'm just looking for a list of task names or a description of what each task involves.
    Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade
Master Artisan (300 + GM Trophy in all) of Luclin (Veeshan)
Master Fisherman (200) and possibly Drunk (2xx + 20%), not sober enough to tell!
Lightbringer, Redeemer, and Valiant servant of Erollisi Marr

Yes, please. I'd love to have some info on this for the site. We have the info provided here and various snippets scattered around, but I don't know of any guide or even overview that's remotely comprehensive. Which is why nothing has been done on it yet....

To my knowledge you technically do not have to do any tasks to get the new augs. Bellfast's collection is used only for making the research aspect of the augs. The stones seem to only be dropping from raid missions. Chronal has STILL yet to be found, but Discordant apparently comes from the Korlach raid. Bazu is somewhere before Demiplane, and Last Blood stones are demiplane tasks only.

Heh. While tnexus' comments might be literally true, they kind of beg the question. What Dandi and I are getting at is a summary of the tradeskill-related tasks and quests in DoDH. If we want to prepare the subcombines ourselves, what are the tasks we have to do, and what are the steps for each task?

I've made some GM armor for high-end raiders who had gotten a Last Blood stone and had neither the tradeskills nor the tasks to prepare the subcombines; they got their AAAA and mechanoinstructions from other players. So yes, you can get the final augs with no tradeskills or tasks -- but someone has to do the work to make the AAAA and other bits.

For a non-researcher, it begins with

          Parts for Belfast
          Find Merchant Model CGXIV
          Speak to Merchant Model CGXIV
Deliver 1 Pinion Gear Bundle to Belfast
          Loot Mechanoinstruction Scraps x10

          which chains to

          More Parts for Belfast
Deliver Mechanoinstruction Scraps to Belfast x10
          Loot 5 Clockwork Pinion Gear
          Loot 2 Clockwork Gear
Deliver 5 Clockwork Pinion Gear to Belfast
Deliver 2 Clockwork Gear to Belfast

Once these are complete, Belfast will offer the 4 book tasks.

Focusing on SSS as the only one required as a combinable item,

          Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles
          Loot 20 Ragepair Hair
          Loot 5 Ragepaw Pelt
Deliver 20 Ragepaw Hair to Belfast
Deliver 5 Ragepaw Pelt to Belfast
          ?????
          ?????
          ?????
          ?????

I don't have the other two collect items unlocked yet and the guildmate that does isn't online, so I'll have to fill in the blanks after I catch him to ask.

Research-capable classes have slightly different Parts and More Parts tasks involving, I believe, combining the scraps and handing the pages to Belfast instead of looting the scraps, but I can't verify first hand.

Here's the rest for the Scrindite's Book:

            Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles
            Loot 20 Ragepair Hair
            Loot 5 Ragepaw Pelt
Deliver 20 Ragepaw Hair to Belfast
Deliver 5 Ragepaw Pelt to Belfast
            Loot 20 Ragepair Teeth
            Loot 5 Ragepaw Claws
Deliver 20 Ragepaw Teeth to Belfast
Deliver 5 Ragepaw Claws to Belfast

And no, all those teeth and claws that annoyed you while looking for the hiar/pelts don't count. You gotta loot them fresh when they unlock after turning in the first set of 20/5.
            Master Artisan Grenmar Soultracker
            75 Halfling Ranger
            Rodcet Nife (Quellious) Server

            Zabori Teenkertoi
            Tinkering - 300 + 12%
            Research - 231 + 5%
            Tsiath Flamel
            Alchemy - 300 + 5%

Geastar, are you saying that chronal steel dropped for you there, or a chronal stone?

Is there *anything* that a non-researcher gains from doing the quests? Even if it's mostly pointless? Could someone maybe outline what the items you ultimately get from the quests are? That would help me create the framework for a guide to these.

Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles is actually used in the combine to make the holepuncher molds. The combine was something like 2 bricks of clay+water+book in a kiln, but don't quote me on that. I'm just too lazy to look. As for the other three, they aren't worth doing for anyone since we all know what they say now.

The four tasks given out by Belfast after finishing both of the Parts tasks are

                      Ambleshift's Anfractuous Album
                      Epicthieck's Edification Edition
                      Poxysmit's Precipitous Parts
                      Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles

Each gives as a reward the book of the same name.

Ok, so the only one that HAS to be done to make all the various AAAA parts yourself is the Scrindites book? Is there any benefit to be had from doing the other 3 book quests if you have access to all the recipe info already?

Not as this time, nope. I still have all 4 tasks in my task window in case I do get around to finishing them all for fun, but unless they change them in the future, I doubt they'll have a use. The idea of giving up 5 Shadowmane pelts though is painful =\.

Not as painful as trying to get Clockwork Gnome Bolts..x5 per recipe (if no fails).. so far the avg for me is 1 bolt per 3 hours of camping in CCreep.
Keeping in mind the camp is perma taken by the higher end guilds, so only time I can camp them is a) when most are asleep -US time- b) hang around and be on a waiting list.

Thing is, you need the faction for DoD progression too ( well the person that requests the task does - high amiable needed aka about 5 days killing.

http://samanna.net/gen.info/prog.dodcheck.shtml for those interested in progression thru DoDH (as you will see, all of the bellfast tasks are required)

To be more specific, it should take about 6 hours 45 minutes of getting faction hits off EVERY creeper reeper in the camp (this includes the 1 that spawns right on the other side of the door).
                              - I did it overnight once (starting around 10pm and well, almost 7 hours later I got the faction). Worked it nonstop, I held the camp and others factioned off me.

Only the last 2 rounds was there a mage that decided he wanted to solo some of my mobs (so pulled 3 each round) and moved them to where I couldn't see them so I might have finished one round earlier had I had those hits. (Caught him in the act at the end; he still factioned off my camp but /shrug)
