I just spent 8 hours or so today trying to get him, and 3 hours last night. Killed him a total of 8 times before he finally dropped it for me. I'm writing this to hopefully give you a little help, altho it may not be much, its just what I experienced.
There are 2 camps that I'm aware of, one in Oasis and one in South Ro. There have been rumous of him spawning in North Ro, but all the posts I looked at said otherwise, and I didn't check so can't confirm.
When I did this, I had myself (65 Beastlord) and I was boxing a level 17 ranger. I also had a 49 bard guildie helping me most of the time, and in the last hour or so a 65 druid and a 57 druid guildies offered to help. The Oasis camp is only a small part of the zone and can probably be done without a tracker as the Ghoul always spawns in a small area of the zone. The South Ro camp is pretty much like camping AC for JBoots, so is a larger area to cover.
South Ro
This camp is a lot easier with a tracker, although you can do it without. (If your by yourself, I would go to the Oasis camp). The first night I did this I had my bard guildie just pull everything in the desert area and swarm kite it. I picked up any leftovers and it was a case of slaughtering everything in sight. I don't know if the Ghoul is part of the AC cycle, altho we killed 'an asp' and 'a madman' any time we saw them up. Caught the Ghoul 3 times that night, no drops.
Oasis of Marr
This camp is easily done really. In the North East of the zone, just south of the orc temple is a zone to a LDoN Adventure, in the form of a quicksand pit. I parked the level 17 tracker I was boxing there, and literally went on a killing rampage. I went from the orc temple, down to the middle of orc highway (the flat bit), up to the waters edge and then ran so I was adjacent to the orc temple, and then back to the orc temple. Any time I saw the ghoul on track, it spawned in that region somwhere. A possiblity may of been my track only reached that distance, and the ghould spawned further off and came into my tracking range, but I doubt it as there have been multiple confirmations of him being spotted in this vicinity. Arthikus is definitly a PH in this camp, as I would kill him and he might spawn again, or the Ghoul after his death, maybe 5-10 mins after. Not sure on 'an asp' or 'a madman' but again killed them anytime I saw them up.
My advice is to do the 2 camps cimultaneously, with guildies doing south ro camp (preferably trackers, I had 2 druids) and you doing the oasis camp. It is a tedious camp, and if the 2 druid guildies hadn't of offered help I might of given up ;p
I don't know whether this will help anyone or not, its just what I experienced and I'm posting to try and help others out. Feel free to add anything you think I may of missed.
