Ceramic Rod a keeper

Discovered how much fun the Ceramic Rod of Storms can be. After obtaining a copy of the L65 Winter's Frost, I decided to take the Rod of Storms we made off my trader and put it to use. The first time I cast Winter's Frost, it crit blast for 3392. Sure beats the 2800 Summer's Flame was doing. And, if my calculations are correct, I think Winter's Frost with max damage and crit can shell out a 3812 nuke. 1550 base + 356 (23 percent from ceramic rod) x 2 (crit damage) = 3812. Although, please correct these figures if I'm wrong. Not only is the damage nice, but the Ceramic Rod sure has a sweet graphic to it.

I'm a shaman by trade so not a big nuker but i beleive that the crit only doubles the base dmg not any modified damage from focus effects from items/buffs. So it's 1550 * 2 + 1550 * .23 = 3456

Been playing around with the Ceramic Rod of Storms and seems you are correct that max crit damage is 3456. Saw it hit that number and hadn't seen anything higher. Max damage without crit was 1906. For a druid, those numbers are just fine by me.

Sorry, 4k DD is only in the dream.

I have cloak of combustion (30% cold dd increase). I duo with a bard friend of mine pretty often, I have yet to see a 4k dd. I've seen 3800 crit, but no 4k yet.

Shoot, 3800 is a pretty round number, probably the cap, maybe.

With Cloak of combustion best nuke non bard I have done as a shaman is 2404. That is off of a base of 925 via Velium Strike.

Hmm, there's an effect called "Wrath of E'ci" that gives +35% to cold based nukes. But no items came up on allakhazam with that effect, I guess they are undiscovered (PoTime maybe?). Don't know if that extra 5% will allow you ro break 4k, but will befinately be a lot closer . Also, is you bard friend maxed in his abilities, or is that song capped to give a certain top bonus?

Yes, my crit number with with all DD aa focus. It's not exactly 3800, it's 3800ish (low 3800s)
