There is 1 way this MIGHT and I say MIGHT be possible. if you had aquired JCM3 then maybe. ( I personaly am not an enchanter and I dont know the pre requirements for the JCM AA) but I could see that reduceing failures enough to get there under 5K. Please feel free to shoot me down on this icon_smile.gif would be good to know just cause.

    Ugh - that's 59+ and 27 AA Points. Ouch.

      I had 290 Wis when I got to 191 cost a little over 2K
I have 310 wis now and when I did last run took a little over 5K

      So just under 8K total.

I'll have to turn logging on when I do my run to 250

Currently skiling my gf's enchanter. 202 with JCM3 aa done, I think not enchanting anything up to 202 I only lost about 1k if that. Failures when working near the trivs are next to nonexistant for me. I think I had 20 total from 1-202.

Be sure to get KEI before you skillup. The extra INT will make you get skillups faster and will save you money in the long run. Well worth whatever you tip for KEI.

I don't believe that you can get to 250 for 3k. I'm not sure what I spent, but realize that a failure using platinum bars is 100pp a shot. Does not take long to 3k to go buh bye.

I am a lvl 44 Enchanter, currently working on going from 215 to 250 skill. I will post results when I get them.

BTW, all those who are praising being able to make profits raising JC are just lucky. Each stack of Platinum combines profits you about 5pp per combine, one failure you lose just over 100pp (on the lower platinum gems). If you are at the maximum success rate, you will break even (95% success, if you follow trivials closely), if you are lucky you make money, if you are unlucky, you lose it.

Also, those who claim they got up for so much less pp have to realize that the longer you do combines, the more chance you have or failing, and the more chance of losing pp. If you have a high int/wis, you skillup faster, and thus have less possibilities to fail like us who do not.

I currently have about 230 int with gear and buffs (kei would be nice, but not high enough for it yet), and I have about 4k banked, I will give this a shot and post.

                First post:

                Currently at 233 JC.

Combines all on Imbued Bars + Gem, following trivials loosely (Whatever Goozik's webpage said I was at 95% or close)

First set of combines were about 10 stacks, to 222. Lost about 500pp.

Second set of combines were about another 10 stacks, to 230. No noticable loss (might be negligable)

As I said, it's all dependant on luck, and EQ's POS RNG.

Will post more as I get closer to 250

I spent 4k going from 170 to 250 jewelcraft. I did not use a gearlock, had 305 wis, good cha and faction. I used no enchanted items, just purchase and combine.

If you follow the troll's advice at:

                  http://www.valendor.org/gumkak/jewelcraft.asp

It is not so bad at all. You would spend even less if you use a gearlock but I hardly ever failed.

if you make a profit on any tradeskill during the skillup process /bow im expecting a heavy dent in my bank.
I have made profit in brewing while skilling up.
That is not only how I pay for it but it also has provided me with plat for other things.

                      Not to derail...

What drink were you making to gain money? I might be willing to Grandmaster another tradeskill if I had a chance to recoup some losses along the way...

On my Necro it took about 5k from 0-200 without enchanted metal. Chrisma at around 80.

On my Cleric with better charisma and non enchanted metal it cost a little over 3k from 0-200.

Recently PL'ed a chanter to 34 to be able toe nchant the metal but need more aa before I can confirm what it costs 200-250.

1-195 for me was a gradual process over first 44 levels, so I can't attest to it, but overall I don't think I spent more than 2.5kpp.

Since a guildmate GMed Jewelcraft, I put mine on hold, and went into other skills.

Recently, I decided what the heck, I am 65 with all spells and ~30k in bank - and went for 250.

See my 'NOT so-detailed' thread. 195-250 in one day for a grand cost of 100pp using enchanted metals and selling all results back to NPC.

I'm trying to minimize my costs by enchanting the metals, but it takes so long to cast those spells. Is there a focus effect to speed it up? I have an Enhancement Haste item, but it doesn't seem to kick in.

209 so far... I have made *a lot* of profit (it is financing, my tailoring, smithing, brewing and potterie skilling up)

How do I do that ?
                              I'm unlucky

I skill up on golden diamonds :
I buy diamonds cheap in bazaar (no more than 200pp, sometimes even less than 150) combine, sell back to vendor for 230pp exactly.

If it a stack of 200 diams, I am (95% success rate) at 180 profit... generally I'm higher due to even cheaper diamonds.

I do that since 195 + geerlock, and my profit is steady... I was at 2k in bank to start, now at 5k and 10 stacks of HQ rings for LDoN armor, and about as much mana vials for the wu's made

It is a very slow way of skilling up, but much less boring than just sitting in front of the vendor

I'm now looking at the blue diamonds, as their price has gone down below the selling price of the vendors... thought the profit here is much less than on diamonds.

                                0 - 250 Jewelry cost me roughly 5k

I had 270 wis and 110 cha at the time. Did 100% of the combines in SH. Didn't enchant anything, just sold back results to vendor. This was by far the easiest skill to get to 250.
