    re

    I just went from 191 to 250.

    I started with 10.5k.

I enchanted every piece of metal (started gold finsihed plat obviously) and I made a trophey. When I was done I had 2-3k left.

I had blue diamond and diamond for trophey. Failed on black sapphire.

Think trophey ran me about 4kish.

So roughy 4-5k to go from 191 to 250.

Had 280 int and Geerlock. Tried to keep the item I was working on between 10 and 20 points from trivial changing gem roughly once per 40 attempts.

Averaged about 1-2 skill ups per 20. Maybe less. Had a few bad runs and only one good run that I can think of.

Bout as detailed as I remembered it. Was talking about all kinds of stuff in tells and guildchat while I was doing it. Plus would watch TV now and then.

Lol I watched TV when no friends were on to talk to and did enchanting and combines during commercials ). It takes a very long time, but the reward is worth it! In my post above I meant that I ended up with around 1.5 K with a starting money pool of 2.5 k.

I just got 250 tonight (there's a new GM on Luclin! ) and I am 500pp ahead of my starting 1693pp. So yes, it's possible to get from where you are to 250 on 2k. You just have to be careful, and it's probably good to either be enchanter or have an enchanter friend who'll help you out.

My jeweler (not this character, she's a druid) is an enchanter, so I was able to do it the way I described.

Again, it's a lot of work, but it's very nice to see that "You have become better at Jewelry Making! (250)" AND have extra plat to show for your efforts

Last night, at 4:30pm, EST, I officially quit tailoring as my primary tradeskill after dumping 2k for a single skillup to 171. I then set out to become a GM Jeweler with my remaining cash.

I started at 5:00pm and went hog-wild on jewlery until 9:30pm when my 6kpp ran out. I went from a jewlery skill of ZERO to 191 and had 1.1kpp left (wasn't enough to buy another stack of platinum to continue).

I didn't keep track of skillups or combines per skillup but I did make some observations.

Going through silver and electrum, skillups were constant at about every 3rd or 4th combine with native INT of 221 and C3 boosting it to 255.

When I hit gold, things slowed down a bit to one skillup for about every 10 combines. For all the above runs, I went with the trivials listed on eqtraders and would switch to the new gem with one skillpoint left to trivial the one I was working on (Yeah, I'm superstitious). Also, trying to save cash, I would stop at emeralds and switch to malachite and next metal type instead of going through the more expensive gems for each metal. Of coures, when I switched metals with about 10-20 skillpoints until first trivial in that metal, I would have a longer run between skillups, usually around 20 or so until I got within 5 of the new trivial.

The world came crashing down when I hit platinum. With 3k left of my original 6k, I could only afford to buy 1 stack of platinum at a time. After 4 stacks of platinum malachite, I didn't have enough left to buy another stack and that ended my run.

I did keep track of how many stacks of what I used (all figures are per stack and number of stacks used):

          Silver (10p4g,8s/stack) 4
          Electrum (52p,4g,8s/stacK) 12
          Gold (209p,9g,8s/stack) 32
          Platinum (2099p,9g,8s/stack) 5

          Malachite (1p,4s) 18
          Turquiose (2p,3g) 3
          Bloodstone (10p, 4g, 8s) 5
          Jasper (15p, 7g, 4s) 4
          Carnelian (17p,8g,4s) 4
          Star Rose Quartz (20p,9g,8s) 1
          Amber (52p,4g,8s) 3
          Pearl (94p,4g,8s) 1
          Topaz (104p,9g,8s) 5
          Emerald (272p, 9g,8s) 4

Note that at various points, I skipped some stones that only offered a few points from the last until trivial. I thought it interesting that through 3 different metals, the malachite was always the most time consuming and I got mighty lucky with star rose quartz.

So that's my tale of one night and one VERY sore wrist! 8)
